To break away for a moment of solitude, head out, a cup of coffee in hand, to enjoy the fresh, Spanish air from the compact balcony. And when the sounds of Madrid are too enticing to ignore any longer, you might stroll down the Paseo de la Castellana or head to any of the upscale bars for an afternoon cocktail.

After a morning in Plaza Mayor, followed by plenty of photographs of touristy landmarks and a stroll through the 19the century El Retiro Park, you can bring your tired feet back for a long, rejuvenating soak in the tub.
