Just returned from our stay at 2 Tayness. We loved the seclusion it gave us and going up and down the track each day and seeing the wildlife around. We walked from the cottage to Kilmartin and the stone circles one day and saw a roe deer in the field off the track. My daughter also caught site of a pine marten on her camera trap she put out. A lovely and comfortable cottage, the pink snug was lovely in an evening, though one evening it was too hot inside and we just sat outside having a glass of wine and watching the bats circling round :-). The cottage was very clean and the water was fine to wash in and drink but we were left bottled drinking water and other treats too, thanks for those :-)

The cottage was lovely, set in a beautiful landscape, the only draw back was the road very uneven and hard on the car,

The cottage is lovely but the paintwork could do with refreshing and bearing in mind the cost of it it could do with a tumble dryer as it is quite damp and drying clothes is practically impossible..

The property was a gem, positioned amongst nature and neolithic history.. Beaches are beautiful and the surrounding area is beautiful The kitchen has a lovely fire and we spent most of our time in there after our days out. Comfortable beds We shall be back as we simply didn’t get to see everything and Jennifer was such a lovely host who really wanted to make sure everything went well. Thank you Mel and Helena

Cottage for 4 people.. Only 3 chairs in the lounge. Your slide/photo 3 shows a table in the lounge. Not there. " 7 shows a whisky decanter etc. Much to my daughters dismay this is no longer provided. " 10 Shelving unit in kitchen/dining area not shown in photo to make kitchen area look larger than it is. Do you have to stoop to this? Incidentally, the lighting in the kitchen is very poor. Your photographer must have used flash? Your particulars state lockable cycle storage. This is not true and we had 4 cycles!!!!! My friends and I have used Sykes in the past. This is the first time that I can recall being LET DOWN by misleading photos and inaccurate statements and that I will not be so trusting in the future.

The cottage was lovely: clean, well equipped and in a good location.. The big downside was the quality of the water. The advert said the cottage had its own private water supply from a bore hole and this wasn’t a problem as we had stayed in a cottage before with its own water supply, however the water was brown (the colour of beer) all week. The owner was aware of the problem and had supplied us with enough bottled drinking water for half a week for the four of us. The water was full of sediment and washing in it wasn’t pleasant, it was difficult to feel clean and washing your hair so it felt clean was a challenge. I feel the cottage was quite expensive considering the lack of clean water for washing and drinking and feel we should have been made aware of the quality of the water before arriving.

Second time back at 2 Tayness and it was just as good, if not better.. We would like to know if the adjoining cottage is also for hire.

If it's rural and rustic that you want then look further than this charming little cottage. Perfectly equipped and extremely functional for an idyllic stay in this part of the world. Hubby and I spent the most chilled of Christmas week's in this perfect little haven. The owners Jennifer and Iain were more than accommading, leaving us some well received supplies and even a wrapped gift under the Christmas tree. The open fire and range in the living kitchen area was just sublime...perfect for drying out walking boots, gaiters and the like, and even the perfect spot for warming your bottle of red!! The Scottish weather was kind to us for the week, which afforded us some great walking days and some pretty stupendous views to boot! We were welcomed warmly on numerous occasions by the lovely staff of the local pub in Kilmartin, which offered a great selection of beers and hearty food to round off a perfect day. The area is steeped in ancient ruins too, for those who enjoy some real history! A return visit is most definitely on our list...thank you enormously Jennifer & Iain.

If you want rural and rustic, then this is your perfect cottage and location.. ..we spent an idyllic Christmas week at this very well equipped and functional cottage. Jennifer & Iain were very accommodating and offered us hospitality beyond expectation, a lovely little wrapped gift under the Christmas tree and welcoming supplies which were warmly received. The Scottish weather was kind to us for the week, which afforded us some stunning walking days and some pretty sublime views in this heavenly part of the world. An open fire and range to come home to were just the icing on the cake for us. We were warmly welcomed at the great little pub in the village at Kilmartin on numerous occasions, some excellent food on offer there to meet all tastes. The area is steeped in some pretty neat history too! Certainly a place we'd love to return to.

It's such a beautiful and nice cottage.. It was very lovingly decorated and the landscape is a dream. Unfortunately, we had to leave early.

This was a lovely well equipped cottage in a very peaceful location.. The information was slightly misleading as it mentioned a pub and shop 2 miles away in Kilmartin. In fact the shop closed a year ago, so the nearest general store was in Lochgilphead, 8 miles away.

We have just returned from the most amazing week at 2 Tayness.. Everything about this place is magical, the location is perfect for getting away from it all ( even though we live in a rather rural location ourselves) the cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break, super comfy beds, log fire, beautiful views and an abundance of little extras from the owner. Having worked in hospitality for nearly 20 years it’s the little touches that can really make a holiday go from good to extra special. Tayness is a perfect base to explore the area and we certainly did that. From wildlife, seals, otters, deer & Fox to name a few. To ferry adventures across Loch Fyne and relaxing lunches out. We would normally look to book somewhere new when arranging a holiday, but we have already decided we will be returning to 2 Tayness.

I stayed here with my family (wife to be and two children) as a Christmas get away. Being from London we wanted a traditional Christmas away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This cottage and it’s surroundings have made this one of our most memorable Christmas’s ever. The cottage is set in a lovely secluded setting, the views are breath taking. The cottage itself is amazing, the owners have really taken care of it and have literally catered for ever little detail. They even left us a little Christmas present under the 2 trees which they put out for us and decorated. There is an open fire in the kitchen area which has been great in creating the Christmas atmosphere. We ventured out after our dinner and found some local attractions such as a castle and some lovely historic churches. This really is a lovely place to stay. We have enjoyed every minute of it.

This cottage is in a secluded rural location on the side of a small hill right next to a beautiful waterfall! It has a wonderful, farm-style kitchen with an open log fire and a dining table for family meals. It comes with all the amenities you would expect; it truly was a holiday when the dishwasher does the hard work for me! The living room is small but comfortable and inviting. Bedrooms are a good size and the beds are so comfortable. The atmosphere the property creates makes your holiday! it is truly wonderful and the owners so welcoming
