Holiday Rental Description

Situated in the Santos neighbourhood, an emerging creative hub close to the heart of the Portuguese capital, this beautifully restored building offers style and substance.

The interior is characterised by sky-high ceilings, vast doors that open onto Juliet balconies, bold colours and contemporary furnishings. Wake up each morning to city views before heading to the kitchen to brew a morning cup of joe to enjoy leaning on one of the wrought-iron balconies and watch the world go by. Feeling peckish? The sleek kitchen is more than capable of inspiring culinary creativity (as long as you're happy with a hob and microwave oven combo), with dimmable lights to set the mood when dinner rolls around.

After a day of exploring Lisbon's seven hills utilising a mix of iconic trams and your most comfortable trainers, you might not feel like cooking. Luckily, you're within an easy walk of the likes of the pop-up food stalls at the ever-popular Time Out Market and fine dining at Kais – a waterside former electricity warehouse that specialises in fine dining in a unique setting.

Looking to make the most of your time? The quirky Museu da Marioneta is just a few hundred metres away. As the only museum in the country dedicated to puppetry, it's perfect for kids. Alternatively, the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga has an outstanding collection of art from all over Europe. Finally, for a whole new perspective on the city, we'd recommend booking a boat trip on the River Tagus from Doca de Santo Amaro – a two-minute train ride away.

Home truths:
*At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area
*There's lift access to this second-floor apartment, so it may be suitable for those with more limited mobility
*Given the apartment's location, some street noise is to be expected
*The kitchen contains a microwave but no full-sized oven, so it's probably best suited to preparing breakfast and light bites
*The WiFi can be spotty
