After strolling down the famed Avenida da Liberdade, ending up at the striking ruins of the Convento do Carmo, you don’t need to travel far to see the sights. This apartment is just a six-minute walk from the medieval convent, as well as every shop and cocktail bar you could need.

Similar to its locale, this home takes influence from a diverse mix of styles and centuries. Traditional Portuguese design concepts like high ceilings and bright balconies with French doors are a must, but there are also touches of Saharan style in the decor.

Admire these interiors with some ambient music on the record player, before settling on the sofa, relaxing in the neutral colour scheme of creams and greys. And this zen vibe works well alongside the other dominant organic feature – marble. We love how this elegant resource creates a luxury feel in the kitchen and both bathrooms (especially when you’re soaking in the gorgeous en-suite bathtub, a glass of douro in hand).
