The real superpower of this home is the floor to ceiling French doors which flood the living areas with plenty of light. This, coupled with the open-plan layout of the main space, gives the apartment a great feeling of openness (often a rarity in Lisbon). While the dining and living area offer space galore, the kitchen is on the smaller side – something culinary enthusiasts should bear in mind. All this aside, the location is spot on – in the heart of the famous Bairro Alto where you'll find a large proportion of Lisbon's best restaurants, shops, and bars.

Home truths:
*The kitchen is small for four guests (but there are plenty of great restaurants on your doorstep)
*Even though the living space is large, there isn't much room for everyone to sit and watch TV together
*Although there is a sofa bed in the living room, the host does not recommend raising the occupancy to six people as there is no method for blocking light from the windows
*One of the showers here can be tricky to use
