While staying in the winding, cobbled streets of Alfama or Graça might be high up on the list for some visitors to Lisbon, the trendy north-east region of the city is a whole new place to explore. Just a few minutes' walk from the Vermelha metro line which can whisk you into the historic neighbourhoods with ease, this modern apartment in beautiful Bela Vista is something of a 21st-century delight.

The park from which the area gets its name from is only about ten minutes away on foot. This enormous, hilly green park is also where the annual Rock in Rio music festival takes place. And you can see it up from the view at home in this apartment block.

The panoramic windows run from the kitchen to the end of the lounge in a continuous strip. Not only does it allow for spectacular views, but also bathes the apartment in wonderful sunlight. Your decor is somewhat understated and minimalist, but this is what allows for the scenery to really be the main event. White walls and polished tiled floors create a sophisticated decor, seamlessly matched with glossy kitchen fittings. Chill a bottle vinho verde in the fridge and perch on the bar stools as you sip wine and admire the Tagus River.
