This charming loft space in Venice was once a boatyard – it's been converted to a high standard, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. We love the elegant decor of this home and its canal views, as well as the private water door giving guests access to a library room. The kitchen is small but has all the necessary electrical appliances – though there are a number of bars and restaurants nearby should you prefer to eat out. There are lots of well-known landmarks within easy walking distance too – Campo Santa Margherita is just two minutes away and the Accademia Bridge is a five-minute walk from the property.

*At full occupancy, two guests will share a second bedroom that's hidden behind a heavy curtain separating it from the living room
*This home is spread over two floors, with no internal lift – it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility
*Parking in Venice can be tricky as it is a car-free city – we think the best way to see the city is on foot or by boat

*Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace
