You can spot a different Venetian landmark from nearly every window of this Cannaregio District apartment. But the views are at their best from the showstopping private rooftop terrace – on a clear day, the panoramas stretch as far as the Dolomites. Though full of vintage character, this home does come with its quirks. The third bedroom has a mezzanine level accessed via a narrow staircase, which isn't overly child-friendly. It's also worth noting there's only one bathroom here. Set in the residential district of Cannaregio, you’ve got authentic cafes and restaurants on your doorstep. When you’re ready to see the sights, the Rialto Bridge (a six-minute walk) is a fine place to start.
Home truths: *There's an additional single bed in the third bedroom on a mezzanine which is reached via a narrow wooden ladder. We don’t think this room is suitable for young children.
*Though there's enough bed space for six people here, we think it might feel a little cramped, especially as there’s only one bathroom. We'd recommend a maximum guest count of five.
*Though the rooftop terrace is private, it’s accessed via a communal staircase.
*A desk space is provided in the third bedroom for anyone planning to work remotely.
*Air conditioning is provided between the warmer months of May and September.
