It’s hard to imagine a more idyllic setting for this Umbrian farmhouse. Set within sprawling gardens scented with lavender and herbs, it overlooks the rolling hills of the Upper Tiber Valley. Spend serene days stretched out by the pool, dining alfresco on the lawn, or curled up with a book in the reading room. Inside, the house has a cosy, rustic feel, with exposed beams, stone floors, and two kitchens – ideal for cooking for a crowd. As with many traditional Italian homes, there’s no air conditioning, but you’ll find fans in the bedrooms and plenty of windows to let in the fresh countryside breeze. And should you crave a little culture, the medieval town of Umbertide – just 6 kilometres away – offers fortresses, piazzas and Roman ruins to explore.
