Historical large working farm "Borgo Cerbaiola", surrounded by meadows. 18 apartments in the residence. 2.5 km from the centre of Montecastelli, 13 km from the centre of Pomarance, 45 km from the centre of Volterra, on top of a hill, 1.5 km from the river, in the countryside. For shared use: property 400 ha, garden (not fenced), natural garden, meadow, swimming pool (18 x 6 m, seasonal availability: 01.Jun. - 31.Sep.). Outdoor shower, barbecue. Towel change (suppl. charge extra). 4 km long motor access (via unmade road). Parking on the premises. Shop 7 km, grocery 4 km, supermarket 15 km, restaurant 4 km. Nearby attractions: San Gimignano 45 km, Siena 50 km, Firenze 85 km. On the estate animal husbandry. Please note: the owner has a dog. 7 out of the 10 stone buildings of the hamlet have been renovated and made into 18 holiday flats and houses, in addition to the owner's house.

The apartment was clean and sufficiently equipped for a two-week vacation. Unfortunately, it was very dark and even on the terrace belonging to the apartment, you looked at a stone wall instead of at the scenic panorama. Contrary to the description, the pool did not open, so that there was no possibility to cool off when the temperatures were nice. There are two ways that lead to the accommodation, one of which is absolutely not recommended as it is almost impossible to drive even with a small SUV.

The accommodation itself and the surroundings were very nice. What was impossible, however, were the last 2 kilometers of gravel road that were on the directions. You had to worry about the car or doubt it would ever arrive. We then learned from the landlord an alternative, 4 km long route, which wasn't easy to drive either, but it was manageable. This should definitely be changed in the directions. The information about the nearest supermarket was not correct. We had to drive 30 minutes to Piacenza to shop, even for bread. In view of the access routes, you should consider whether you want to do this. This reduced the holiday experience, even if the accommodation was really nice, as was the pool area. If you had known that beforehand, you could have prepared for it and maybe planned differently.
