There are plenty of original features to admire inside, from the fireplace to the wooden ceiling beams. Budding chefs can practice their favourite Italian dishes in the kitchen, and serve up their culinary creations at the rustic table. Outside, you'll find a gorgeous covered space where you can relax and drink in the stunning views across the countryside. And, when the temperature rises, it's time to plunge into the sparkling swimming pool for a refreshing dip.

There's still a working farm in the surrounding fields, and the host is happy to introduce kids to the animals or put you in touch with the local riding stables to arrange a hack. There are some charming walks nearby, and you can also drive to Monterufoli-Caselli Nature Reserve in just thirty minutes for adventures in the great outdoors. And, with the historic villages of Micciano and Libbiano both ten minutes away by car, there's plenty to keep you busy.
