Cavan Hill Cottage is a detached cottage located two miles from Ballinrobe, County Mayo. This cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of two doubles, including one en-suite shower and there is also a shower room. The cottage also has an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with multi-fuel stove. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and a front enclosed lawned garden with furniture. Cavan Hill Cottage is an ideal base for touring the West of Ireland.

The market town of Ballinrobe, County Mayo is situated on the River Robe, close to Lough Mask, Lough Carra and Lough Corrib. Ballinrobe is surrounded by many features of archaeological, architectural, historic and ecological interest, plus the town has a championship 18 hole golf course and horseracing meetings.

Region
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

The house is tidy and with good facilities.. It's In a quiet country place, not very far from the town with supermarkets, pubs and cafes The owner is friendly and considerate, he kept us stocked with wood for the fire. We had an enjoyable break there.

Instructions for reaching the property need to be clearer.. For example, to know that Convent Road start in the middle of town and heads South past the schools would be helpful.

This property needs to cleaned up and decorated to a more modern standard and the plumbing system needs to be checked out, shower broke of, water was either scalding or freezing.. Couldn't recommend it.

This is a great base for travelling to Cong, Ashford Castle, Westport and Galway all within 40 minutes drive or less.. Great lakes, lough and rivers which my husband enjoyed kayaking along. The trout and salmon were jumping out of the water. We went to Achill Island and my husband ran the 26.2 mile greenway between Westport and Achill sound. My elderly mum came with us and because the cottage is all on one floor she was able to get around great. We loved the multistove fuel fire and the wonderful smell of the turf.
