And, when you get thirsty, simply pick some fresh lemons from one of the trees in the garden to garnish your drink.

The water's edge is just 100m away from here, and there's a second beach just four minutes' walk away which is ideal for swimming. You'll also find a selection of restaurants and tavernas nearby for when you need to refuel. If you have a car, we recommend spending a day exploring Crete's stunning coastline, stopping off at the little harbour villages along the way. Or, head inland and hike through the Dikti Mountains – jaw-dropping views are guaranteed.
