The Adaline isn’t the most mesmerising home in our collection, but it’s located on a typical Schöneberg street lined with stunning pre-war buildings. This two-bedroom home used to be a shop, which explains the storefront-like entrance in the master bedroom. Even though it’s not super stylish, it’s got some Altbau charm with high ceilings and ornate stucco.
Home truths: * Tall people be aware - the shower is only 190 cm tall
* When we visited, we noticed some scuff marks on the walls
* It’s a ground floor flat, so don’t expect expansive views of Berlin’s skyline
* The fake plants are not to everyone’s taste
* Even though there’s a door to the yard, the host has decided that guests are not allowed access to it
* The communal area is located inside the master bedroom - and it doesn’t have enough space for all four guests to sit comfortably
* The layout is a bit awkward - you enter the home via the master bedroom
* Functional solutions have been prioritised over design
