Swanky in every way, Schwerin reminds us of German fairytale castles. While Schöneberg isn’t exactly located atop a hill with panoramic views of forests and mountains (like a real castle), it does offer a lot in terms of local Berlin restaurants and shops. We love the high ceilings, stucco details and luxurious materials, perfect for channelling your inner regal self.
Home truths: *This home comes with some wear and tear – we noticed some scuff marks and minor stains on furniture when we visited
*This flat is specially designed for rental guests – just a heads up that it is not a lived-in home if that is the experience you are after
*We know we’re picky, but the bedding isn’t as luxurious as we would have liked it to be
*The bathroom feels a bit tired and could perhaps do with a bit of an update
*The host owns several, near-identical homes in the same building – the layout and design might vary slightly depending on which floor you stay on
*This home is filled with weird and wonderful things, if you’re a minimalist at heart, you should probably look elsewhere
