This is the third time we have stayed at St John's cottage and as always Caroline goes the extra mile to make the cottage warm and welcoming.. There is always milk and wine in the fridge. She supplied my husband with a bottle of beer and of course the usual chocolate cake. Lovely!

The attention to detail put in by the owner was superb.. Starting with an e-mail prior to going assuring us of the cleaning regime undertaken during this pandemic. Really is a home from home cottage. The area is also fabulous for walking and cycling, plus pretty villages and lots of reservoirs.

From the time we arrived we knew we were going to have a great staycation.. The cottage is in a great location with easy access to all routes. Caroline the owner who lives next door was there to greet us and inform us about the facilities in the cottage which is very well maintained, very clean and very comfortable. The patio seating area in the garden is lovely with a newly planted raised border, with an upper section to sit as well. The cottage provides everything you need with a lovely touch of wine, milk, cake, coffee and tea on arrival, if you have not had chance to buy any. Great place to eat about 10 mins up Mortimer Road called Cubley Hall, nice beer garden and service. Tesco's superstore 10 mins in the opposite direction. My wife and I had a fantastic stay and would thoroughly recommend this beautiful cottage.

St John's Cottage is a beautiful cottage and very well equipped and comfortable with very comfy beds.. The garden is a beautiful place to sit out and relax in with views into the countryside ,and the town is just a short walk away. The owners kindly left cake, wine and milk for when we arrived. This was our second visit to St.John's Cottage and we can't wait to visit again next year!

St John’s cottage was immaculate, the entire place was spotless.. It was really cosy and had everything we needed and more. The parkin, milk and wine were a very welcomed bonus and a lovely touch from the hosts. We spent a wonderful week here and explored the local area and beyond. It was great to come back to such a beautiful holiday home and completely relax. Simply perfect!

St John`s cottage is beautiful.. Located in a really nice area and room for parking the car on the cobbles which is off road/ The owners welcome is superb, friendly and warm greeting. The cottage is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, spacious and has every amenity. 5* accommodation with lovely quality furnishing and finished to a very high standard. All the little extra touches very much appreciated. The owners are near enough if you wanted anything but equally you are detached to enjoy an unobtrusive holiday stay. I would highly recommend this superb and very beautiful cottage. We would definitely stay again. thank you so much to the owners for getting everything right. We had a wonderful weeks stay. kind regards Rita & Graham/Lincolnshire

Arrived at the cottage to be warmly greeted by owner who showed us the cottage. WOW this is such a wonderful well equipped and spacious cottage. The décor is superb and has quality stamped all over the furnishings and amenities. It was lovely and warm with radiators throughout plus a log fire in the lounge. plenty of hot water. The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything for a very comfortable stay. It is very well thought out inside from the downstairs cloakroom, spacious lounge and lovely kitchen and dinning area. The upstairs has a wonderful family bathroom with a generous shower and free standing slipper bath. the two bedrooms are beautiful with plenty of storage and space. If the weather had been nice we would have also enjoyed the patio and garden area. Car parking is off road on the cobbled area. this is 5* quality at its best. we would highly recommend staying here and will definitely rebook in the future. Many thanks to Caroline who made our stay so perfect and thank you for the delicious chocolate cake and bottle of wine, must appreciated. kind regards Rita & Graham/Lincolnshire.

We stayed at St John's cottage over Christmas and Caroline had decorated it beautifully for us with beautiful tasteful Christmas decorations.. She had made us a lovely chocolate cake, there were sweets Christmas crackers and she had even bought us a present! All in all much more than we expected. The cottage was warm, comfortable and it's perfectly situated for long walks whilst being very close to shops etc.

The cottage is extremely cosy and decorated and fitted to a very high spec.. We weren't lucky with the weather unfortunately BUT it didn't matter as you knew you were coming back to such a warm home. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. There were plenty of leaflets in the cottage on things to do and visit but the owners would recommend the places they find good. We followed all their recommendations and weren't disappointed. The welcome bottle of wine and locally baked cake and pint of milk are just examples of how they want people to feel welcome. We have been renting cottages for many years now and this cottage is one of the best. There is a lot to do in the area whether you like walking or enjoy museums. If you are unsure of where to visit then just book this cottage.

The cottage was beautifully presented with very tasteful furnishings and décor.. There was a bottle of wine and a delicious homemade cake waiting for us on arrival with milk in the fridge and coffee and tea available in the kitchen. We have stayed in many self catering cottages in this country and abroad over the years but St Johns cottage is definitely in our top five.

This Cottage was absolutely perfect! Caroline had gone to great care to add luxurious little touches all over the place which made this cottage a little piece of heaven for our Christmas week away. Having somewhere to park was essential for us so being able to park right out front was great. We arrived to find Christmas decorations, mince pies, toiletries and even dressing gowns! I would 100% recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a holiday home. It was a beautiful base to enjoy the surrounding area. We walked all over and followed some of the routes in a little booklet we found in the the cottage which was so helpful! We were very sorry to have to leave this beautiful home and would have no hesitation with returning!

No need to look further, this is the one, St Johns Cottage is really warm and welcoming, beautifully light and airy, fabulously decorated and yet retains all the comfortable cottage features one would expect from a home of this age. The owners are delightful and are very hands on in respect of doing all they can to make sure you enjoy your stay. Poor a glass of wine and relax.
