Property Description

This is an all year round destination, with a variety of wildlife and a photographers paradise. Walking and horse riding over spectacular Moorland, with stunning views any time of year. You can also walk a delightful 3.5 miles to Tarr Steps ( and the Tarr Farm Inn pub ) from the cottage. Stay local and visit Dulverton (2.5 miles) with a variety of bespoke, boutique and independent shops offering everything you need for your stay, from food to fashion and gifts to take home. There's also a useful Co op, butcher and fresh produce shop too. Opportunities and lessons for coarse and river fishing are available in the near by town of Bampton, which also offers the most wonderful bakery, shops and the many local events including The Dark Skies Festival, Bampton Beer Festival, Dulverton Literary Festival, Oakford Food Festival, After The Fair Festival to name a few! A 40 minute drive will take you to Porlock Weir, where you can join the coastal path along part of the Somerset coastline, then on to North Devon and Cornwall beyond. The various beaches of North Devon offer wonderful walks or surfing and swimming, with vast stretches of golden sand at Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe, an hour and a half away. National Trust Dunster Castle is a must see as well as Holnicote Estate, offering dog walks a plenty. Sheepfold is a cosy, bright and sunny cottage located in an idyllic, peaceful setting above the River Barle, just 2 and a half miles from the pretty town of Dulverton. Step inside and you ll be immediately greeted into the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With high ceilings and exposed beams this property has plenty of character. The lounge area has 2 comfortable sofa's one of which is a sofa bed, and a Smart TV/DVD. There's a bookcase containing a variety of books and magazines and a drawer of board games, in the bedroom. Cook up a romantic meal for two in the well equipped kitchen with, electric oven and hob, combination microwave oven, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine. Head further into the property and you will find the pretty double bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. There is also a separate WC too. Heading through the French doors you will find a small enclosed patio area with seating for two. Heading out of the front door and across the parking area, you will find a large shared garden for dog excersising and with garden furniture and lovely views for you to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.
