The West Somerset Railway, a twenty-mile stretch of restored steam railroad, goes through Watchet and continues through breathtaking countryside for another nine miles to the coastal town of Minehead, drawing in rail enthusiasts from all around. The Quantock Hills climb to 1,000 feet above sea level near St. Audries in the east, and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor are to the west and are also easily accessible. From Watchet, there are wonderful walks down the coast. Discover the numerous charming coastal and inland villages, such as Porlock with its steep hill and charming winding alleys, Dunster with its spectacular castle towering above the old village, and Minehead with its bustling resort, sandy beach, golf course, and classic seaside attractions.
