Weston-super-Mare is less than 10 miles away and features award-winning sandy beaches, donkey rides, water sports, restaurants, shops, the Playhouse, Winter Gardens, and the Grand Pier, as well as other classic seaside attractions. Burnham-on-Sea is conveniently located and features seven miles of pristine beaches, sailing, fishing, a theatre, a cinema, a swimming pool and a sports academy, gardens, biannual food and drink festivals, live music, the Guy Fawkes carnival, and a 36-hole championship golf course. Less than an hour will take you to either historic Wells, with its stunning cathedral, or the world-famous Cheddar Caves and Gorge, with its breathtaking clifftop walks. The Avalon marshes are one of the largest lowland wetlands in the UK, a complex landscape teeming with wildlife, and Glastonbury, with its mystical connections to King Arthur, is at its centre.
