Parrs Meadow Cottage

Such a lovely little cottage in a great location, everything you could need and so cosy and homely inside. We loved our stay and didn’t want to leave!

We have just returned home from our third stay at Parrs Meadow Cottage. This is a beautiful hidden gem nestled in the Shropshire countryside but within driving distance of Shrewsbury and beyond. The cottage itself is beautiful; well kept and equipped with everything you could ever need during your stay, and more. Tracy & Paul are wonderful, warm and welcoming hosts & shows exceptional kindness to their guests. We couldn’t recommend enough & can’t wait to plan our next break.

We loved it! Very comfortable. Everything thought of. So nice to have a decent comfortable lounge which in our experience there are few! The whole place has a very Cosy feel and we didn't want to leave! Beautiful countryside. Was so nice just to walk even a few hundred metres up the road in the afternoon to enjoy the light, animals and old buildings. Lawley Hill (see pic) is a must and not a long drive from the property at all! Tracy communicated really well and left us alone. George the horse is lovely. The only negative was the hob which constantly turned itself off. Probably something to do with the timer I'm assuming but not an easy hob to operate, not for us muggins anyway (& we have one ourselves).

This cottage has everything you need for your stay ,it is so well equiped there was nothing that the owners had not thought of ,a very quiet location but near to some great attractions and Shrewsbury is a short car journey away . There are a couple of pub resturants nearby but not walkable . This is a great cottage and we had a great time and highly recomend this place to stay .

This is a great cottage everything you need has been thought of by the owners , very clean and comfortable.. Location is fairly remote but very quiet and it has fantastic skies at night due to lack of light pollution . We would highly recommend this as a base for your holiday it is just a short car ride to Shrewsbury and plenty of attractions.

We've had a truly amazing 4 night stay. It's a wonderfully clean and big cottage full of everything you could need especially when staying with young children. The accommodation is very comfortable and spacious. The underfloor heating in the bathroom and kitchen was an added bonus when the weather turned. Loved the outside space, perfect for the children to burn off excess energy and for adults to relax. The children loved the playroom. The views are amazing; you can see The Wreken and the surrounding area and is truly exceptional. Getting to meet your hourse, dog, hens and pick fresh eggs was an added bonus. Thank you for having us and will 100% book again when we come to visit family in the future. Thank you, The Paynter family.

We loved our stay at this converted barn.. It was so peaceful, well equipped, comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. It is a lovely quiet village, so your own transport is essential, but very close to Shrewsbury and great hill walking just south of the cottage around Church Stretton. Lovely gardens and patio area - the patio gets the afternoon and evening sun which is lovely for sitting out. Would highly recommend it as a base for South Shropshire.

Had a lovely relaxing time in this beautiful cottage. Everything clean and good quality with lots of nice little touches. Massive hot tub. Loads to do for all ages in the area. We went to Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Ironbridge, the Wrekin and RAF Cosford museum. Host communication very good. Would recommend.

Our second visit albeit 5 years later.. We were not disappointed; the cottage is still peaceful, comfortable and well equipped.

This cottage is very cosy, the owners are very friendly, you get a daily visit from the friendly amusing chickens who liked to be fed (they got fed before me), It has been very well thought out, all the instructions for the kitchen appliances are displayed near the appropriate appliances which makes life very easy especially if you are used to using gas cooking appliances. The shower in the bathroom is excellent and the beds are very comfortable the bedrooms have plenty of cupboard space. Last but not least the hot tub is an added bonus. If we holiday in this area again this would be my first choice of accommodation.

Our week at Parr’s Meadow Cottage was definitely one of the most relaxing & peaceful holiday breaks we have ever had.. The noisiest thing within earshot being the sparrows nests in the eaves. Being able to sit in the garden overlooking the lovely countryside was a joy. We were particularly lucky with the weather too so getting in and out of the hot tub wasn’t a problem. But even a cooler day the lovely warm hot tub is treat. The patio outside the kitchen is a great little sun trap too. Loved the area so many interesting places to visit ‘Wroxeter Roman City’ ‘Much Wenlock’ & Attingham Hall. There are many decent pubs 10 to 20 minutes drive where you can get a good meal. However if you want something a little more unusual Shrewsbury has a wider choice from Japanese to a Moroccan restaurant which we really enjoyed called ‘Csons’. There aren’t many holiday cottages where we say we would like to return but this is one of them. Thank you too to our great hosts Tracy & Paul who have thought of everything that their guests might need. Highly recommend this accommodation.

Tracey was very welcoming and the homemade biscuits and milk in the fridge on our late arrival was a lovely surprise.. She explained the use of the hot tub which was a luxury to relax in and was always very helpful with any other queries. The cottage itself is a luxury and very well equipped. The views of open countryside from the windows were beautiful and simply left me breathless. Great for peace and easy drive or walks through villages. Pubs and local shops nearby but need car. Cannot wait to return.

The cottage was beautiful and cosy and the surroundings are just lovely.. Tracy was helpful and would definitely stay again. The hot tub was a lovely feature and worked brilliantly and very convenient to get to Shrewsbury and Carding Mill Valley.

The cottage was amazing, nicely presented but with a homely feel.. The hosts were very accommodating and made us feel welcome, they even made home baked biscuits which our kids loved. Everything was clean and there was a good range of appliances available, the surrounding area was peaceful and the hot tub was also a great way to end the day! Would highly recommend to anyone.

We stayed at this delightful cottage in June 2018. It is a beautiful well thought out property with absolutely everything you could possibly want and furnished to a very high standard. To top it all there is a wonderful hot tub which was one of the best we've had at a holiday cottage. It is a beautiful location,loads of things to do in the area and the owners are very friendly and helpful, definitely deserving of a five star rating.

The cottage and hot tub are not private in the fact that it is overlooked by a well-used horse riding paddock one side and a driveway the other side where the hot tub is and has low walls around (not good when you are in bathing suits).. Felt like we were constantly being watched and really didn't settle or relax there. Hot tub broke down for over 24 hours. Couldn't contact owner to report initially. When finally came over, basically said we had broken it (we hadn't) and spoke to us like children! They clearly do not welcome children either. She did not want the children in the hot tub (though we managed to convince her they would not do any harm etc as we have our own hot tub). The area where the hottub is requires some aesthetics....gravel, brickwalls and fencing isn't exactly exotic viewing...hot tub is located around the back, not the front where the views of the mountains are and the garden area. Lots of do's and don't's regarding using the place and the hot tub - if she cannot trust adults to treat the facilities with care, then perhaps she should not be hiring the property out at all. We gave her nothing to have concern about so could not understand her approach to paying guests. People want to relax and enjoy their precious holidays, not be constantly on edge. The barn itself is nice but the atmosphere is not! Shropshire on the other hand, is lovely, especially some of the hill walks and Telford Park and all it has to offer. Would visit the area again but not the property - have stayed in much better ones over the years but sadly the atmosphere and being watched over all the time ruins the lovely barn and holiday itself.

We stayed at Parrs Meadow Cottage for two nights over the new year. The photographs don’t do this place justice! A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. We used the hot tub both evenings, a lovely way to relax at the end of the day! We visited a local pub about 10/15 mins away in a taxi, called the Haughmond. Lovely meal in a traditional Shropshire pub. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again soon! thank you Parrs Meadow!

Great cottage, well equipped , good location for cycling.. Shame no where to eat in walking distance, so self catered but v well equipped to do so. Good value if renting for a week, but we could only do the weekend so a little pricey for our stay, which we knew when booking but had we been organised we'd have done a week for only £70 extra I think. Would definitely return. Hot tub great too for chilling after a day on bikes.

We arrived late afternoon Saturday night and didn't actually venture out till Monday afternoon. The place is stunning, it has underfloor heating which was a god send in the cold weather. The hot tub is amazing and we never wanted to get out. The fully furnished kitchen made cooking and preparing food really easy as everything was there. The decoration is cosy with a modern twist. We reluctantly left Tuesday morning to come home but we will definitely be going back again.

Location was quiet, yet easy to get to places - such as wonderful Shrewsbury.. ... owner very accommodating. Hot tub cleaned regularly.... overall just amazing. Would love to go again!!

We had a lovely week at this cottage; everything was excellent. It was situated in a lovely location with plenty to do in the nearby areas. The owners made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We will definitely visit again if in the area.

This was an excellent holiday in a very clean, comfortable and quiet cottage. The location of the cottage whilst being deep in the countryside it was deceptively close to roads leading to all places of interest in the area. Would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Second time we have stayed at the Cottage, very nice location, very peaceful and quiet. The Cottage is well appointed with lovely gardens and the hot tub is a treat especially with sunny weather. A great place to relax.

This is a first class barn conversion property, sympathetically and tastefully designed and extremely well appointed. The area is well suited to holiday visits with much to see and good eating places around.

Such a relaxing atmosphere and was lovely to have views onto fields and watch horses play. Also loved the heated flooring in the kitchen. The bed was also amazingly comfy!!

We spent 3 nights in this perfect cottage. The space throughout the house was great. The hot tub was very clean and although it rained was still a great bonus. Great location and very private. The house is so clean it's like a home from home. We wished we had stayed longer and can't wait to return.

Our weekend away was fantastic and the cottage was stunning, a truly beautiful place to stay. The décor was amazing! There was a gorgeous shower with underfloor heating in the bathroom and kitchen, this was a great touch. Loved our stay, we would highly recommend it to anyone.

We have had an amazing week at Parrs Meadow Cottage. The cottage is of an exceptionally high standard and is one of the best we have ever stayed in. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of places to visit. There is a wonderful hot tub which is just perfect after a day out in the Shropshire Hills! You couldn't wish for more in this wonderful cottage and we will most definitely be returning!

Myself my husband and our 3 yr old daughter had the pleasure of staying at parrs meadow cottage for a long weekend to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. What a stunning little gem it was! So cosy and exceptionally clean the hot tub certainly was an added bonus. Also with everything be on one level it was brilliant for our little girl. Most definitely the best cottage we have stayed in ever! We will most certainly return in the near future.

The peace and quiet in this rural location, the added luxury of the hot tub and the general friendliness of the people in Shropshire helped us make this a great holiday. From what we experienced we would definitely book in the future again, as well as highly recommending to friends and family.

The hot tub was used almost every day, whatever the weather. The location was wonderfully relaxing as it was so rural and quiet yet within reach of spectacular countryside and historic towns.

This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in many) and has many luxuries including a hot tub that we didn't want to leave. The cottage is situated in a beautiful quiet rural location. Not a single negative thing to be said about the property. We will be back to stay again very soon.

This is a lovely cottage which is very well equipped and beautifully furnished. The hot tub is a really good one, better than any we have had before. Every thing about the cottage was very high quality. The cottage is close to Shrewsbury and the many nearby towns. Iron Bridge gorge is very easy to get to and there is lots to do in the area.

The cottage and garden were beautiful, a really peaceful spot. We all particularly enjoyed the hot tub, it was a lovely way to relax together after a day out walking. We would definitely recommend a stay here and hope to be back ourselves.

We had a lovely week here as a family. We have stayed in quite a few different cottages, but this one has been the most comfortable and well appointed. Beautifully clean and a real home from home!

The property oozed quality, from the furnishings and the décor, to the garden - and particularly to the hot tub! A truly wonderful place to enjoy a weekend away.

Sat in the lounge of Parrs Meadow preparing to leave, and I really don't want to! We have visited as a couple with 2 12 year old in tow for my daughters birthday - the weekend away was her idea. And what a fabulous one. The booking arrangements were clear and timely, directions and key instructions were perfect and the welcoming visit was a lovely touch. The cottage is fantastic, high spec whilst being cosy, with every home comfort and amenity. The kitchen has got to be the best equipped I have ever used for self catering, and the tea, coffee and milk a thoughtful gesture. Location suited us perfectly for a day out in Shrewsbury. Our intention was to leave mid morning for a trip to Ironbridge - this was vetoed by the girls who wanted a lazy morning looking at the stunning scenery - and enjoying the tub. Not sure what to say but wow! On a cold dark November night it was wonderful. We all look like prunes but have had 'the best birthday ever' to quote my daughter. Thank you so much.

Parrs Meadow Cottage is a first class property in Shropshire, it had everything and more for the perfect holiday. It was very quiet and peaceful over looking the Shropshire countryside, made even better by the good weather. We are looking forward to returning soon as we are also missing the Hot Tub.

We spent 5 days on our minimoon in the cottage. A nice warm welcome from the owner. The cottage is beautiful, clean, well equipped and perfect to get away from it all as all you can see from any window is horses and beautiful countryside. The folder with help and advice was very useful. The hot tub is the perfect way to end the day. We did have a conversation about how easily we could move in and never leave. A lovely break away from it all after wedding, helped make our special day a special 6 days.

The cottage is well laid out the every thing you need. Helpful folder with details of how to use oven,hob washing machine etc. Then the Pièce de résistance.... The hot Tub... What can we say, having never used one before, we are converts. It just added the cherry to the top of a perfect stay.

A wonderfully refurbished barn conversion. Everything was finished to the highest standard and there was absolutely everything there that you needed. The owners were lovely people, extremely helpful and accommodating.

We loved its location, the cottage size, decoration, equipment, beds and bedding, hot tub jacuzzi and to be honest just about everything.

Beautiful. The cottage is fantastic, all the fixtures and fittings are too very high standards. They supply everything you could possibly need and more the jacuzzi hot tub is wonderful and so relaxing. Setting and views are to die for it is so quite and peaceful the perfect place to cool e out and unwind. Shrewsbury is not yo far away and is a truly beautiful town with stunning old building everywhere and fab shops. This place is a must real value for money and we will be back to visit.

We loved how quiet the cottage was, no traffic, just birdsong. The hot tub was a great hit with the entire family and was something to really look forward to after a day out. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen was really well equipped. With so much to do nearby, we will definitely be back; it was a super place to stay and we have lots more we want to do in the area.

We stayed at Parrs Meadow for 3 nights after our wedding. The cottage is situated in the small village of Pitchford. It was very well equipped with heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom along with the hot tub of course! The owner was very friendly and helpful and popped in on arrival to introduce herself. I would highly recommend this cottage if you want a peaceful, relaxing retreat!

We had a lovely May Bank holiday weekend in Parrs Meadow cottage. The whole stay was excellent, from the easy key collection and home-made biscuits on arrival, to the knowledgeable recommendations of local walks and pubs. We all enjoyed the hot tub, the kids loved having a TV in their room and the adults enjoyed the peace and quiet and wifi! There was a pretty garden, but it was a bit too chilly to sit out in it. The cottage is close to lovely country for rambling, lots of castles and a stately home or two and Shrewsbury and Ludlow are nearby. Excellent pub lunches locally, but one of the best food-y things we found was a home-made ice cream place in the next village. We would definitely recommend.
