Or hike into the fishing village of Craster (9 miles) and treat yourself to some authentic Craster kippers they re apparently a big hit with the Royal Family. Further afield, take a stroll around the magnificent town walls at Berwick (24 miles). Head to the rear of this quirky cottage and enter through the back door. You ll find a charming, light and bright kitchen/diner with beautiful, exposed brick feature walls. Rustle up some dinner for your loved ones in the spacious kitchen and enjoy a sociable dinner in the dining area. After dinner, make your way to the cosy lounge to slip onto a sofa and warm your toes by the traditional wood burner. Exposed stone walls and wooden ceiling beams add a traditional ambience to this space. Pour yourself a glass of wine and while away a few hours in front of the TV.
