River Cottage is a beautiful stone-built property with an unusual upside down layout, situated in the popular town of Morpeth. Hosting two bedrooms; one double and one twin with a family bathroom, this property can sleep up to four people. There is a top floor open-plan living area with a kitchen, sitting area and dining area. The glass French doors open out onto a Juliet balcony. Outside is immediate access to the shops, bars and restaurants, being ideally located behind the high street. There is also an automated ground floor garage for ample off-road parking. River Cottage is the perfect holiday getaway. Note - Please be advised that this property will not accept worker bookings.

Offering the remains of an historic castle, parks, riverside walks, ancient architecture and churches and an old chantry with a bagpipe museum, Morpeth is ideal for visiting surrounding attractions such as Druridge Bay to the east, the vibrant city of Newcastle to the south, Alnwick to the north and the National Trust's Wallington Hall to the west. There is also access to the Simonside and Cheviot Hills, with good walking in the countryside.

Great host (Abdul) and lovely cottage with great access to the local area. Everything you could need.

Dirty bathroom and dishwasher. Wifi monitored by owner. TV basic, one in every room. Utility is back of garage. Parking fits Smart car. Public parking 3 hour max is free. Fought for refund under consumer law. Excuses by Sykes, who are difficult to contact after money has been paid. During a pandemic no measures taken to remove soft furnishings, travel leaflets, bowls if sweets etc. Sykes took no responsibility left it to owners. Citizens advice service helped and Visa refunded. Sykes fought it. Not an agency to recommend.

Everything about the house was clean and positively shining.. We were met by the owner on arrival and made very welcome. The integral garage was very handy since the property is behind the main street and if we were staying in Morpeth there was no need to take the car out. We could see the river from the living area and sat with the juliet balcony doors open enjoying the flow of air. The place was light and bright, fitted out to a very high standard, a tv in both bedrooms, heated tower rail, excellent shower, fully fitted kitchen, comfortable furniture and even bowls of sweets dotted about. The owner is right it is not suitable for children as the stair is pretty steep. Perfect for us we would like to return. We would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Two points about this cottage: 1) The garage is only suitable for a small car, due to width and height limits.. Convenient public parking is available, but three hour limit during the day. 2) It is unsuitable for persons with limited mobility due to stairs.

Beautifully presented and dressed cottage. Everything you could possibly need is here and the charming owner is very helpful. Immaculately clean and lovely bedding. I can't speak highly enough of the property however I must point out a couple of downsides. The garage is a nightmare for modern cars. Small entry and difficult to manoeuvre into it. There is a lot of parking very nearby however and there is nothing can be done about it. The other problem is the heat coming in the beautiful windows in the living room. This could be easily solved with blackout blinds which I'm sure the owner will take on board. I would recommend this property.

The ONLY negatives are a shortage of cutlery making the dishwasher not economical.. The cottage was advertised that it had a basic sky package, it didnt. It only had sky news which is also on the freeview platform. Also we had a vw golf with roof box and it was about 1cm away from not being able to enter garage. All of these points were easily got around in our case. ( 2 adults). The homeliness, decoration and cosiness were 10/10, and the owner was very polite and friendly. We have never seen a rental property as well decorated as this. The tumble dryer and washing machine were extremely helpful as we had traveled by car from Spain. The owner also ran the tandoori take away, just 10m away, it was the best.

The cottage was clean and comfortable, a bonus to have the garage in a limited parking area.. Easy access to Northumberland and good restaurants on the doorstep.

The cottage was absolutely amazing.. The welcome we received from the owner was so lovely, we felt at ease and that nothing was too much to ask. The cottage was in an excellent location and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted a luxurious stay. I will definitely be returning to this cottage
