This is our second stay at Pony Cube and we love it. The cosy open fire, comfy beds and well equipped kitchen make staying a delight and real break from city life. We love the bustle of this working village with horses pottering past as they head up to the gallops for their exercise. Have tried all the pubs and recommend bingo and curry night at the Richard III. Despite poor weather there is lots to do locally and have enjoyed walking in the dales and moors around the property. Will definitely be back.

This was our second stay in Ponycube cottage, with the weather chilly but sunny we wrapped up warm and enjoyed some lovely walks from the front door around the lovely village of Middleham and further afield to swadedale and wharfdale. Harrogate is less than an hour away and well worth the trip, especially to the turkish spa and Betty's tea rooms. Despite the cold weather, Ponycube was snug and cosy and evenings were spent in front of the open fire in the cottage or at the Richard III pub (two fires, good well priced local beers and good pub food) which is a 2 min walk away. The cottage was as lovely as we remembered it and well equipped with lovely touches like a rainforest shower, nice bedding, books on the local area. Hoping we'll be back to this lovely cottage next year sometime.

We loved this gorgeous cottage in the lovely village of Middleham. It's beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything you could need. The weather was good and we enjoyed evening drinks and breakfast in the courtyard garden. Waking up the sound of horses going past the window was lovely! The village has a well stocked shop and 3 pubs, all really friendly and serving good food. Lots of fab walks nearby. The cottage has some quirky, original features and some lovely modern touches like the fantastic rainforest shower, super comfy bed and luxury bed linen. I had the best night's sleep in ages while I was there. The size of the cottage is perfect for a couple or small family. I really can't fault this cottage and really hope to return soon!

Pony Cube cottage is our home from home. We have been in the winter when we make full use of the open hearth fire and in the summer the enclosed back yard is a perfect sun trap. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is modern with an amazing shower, while the kitchen is compact but everything we needed was supplied. Middleham is a lovely place to visit with 3 good pubs and a first class fish shop. Plus if you like race horses you will see plenty during your time there.

The cottage is on the main road into the village which is home to three pubs and a good restaurant. For four or fewer people this is a lovely place to stay. The beds are comfortable, there’s a stove in the living room and the kitchen is small but very convenient. The Dales are close by for walks and exploration but also you can visit 2 very interesting abbeys (Jervaulx and Fountains) while castle enthusiasts have a very good one on the doorstep! We would love to return....

Just spent a few nights here at this delightful cottage. Booked through Sykes Cottages. Lovely cottage to rent, cosy, warm and has everything you need to make your stay a lovely one. Loved waking up in the mornings to the clip clop of the horses going past the window on the way up to the gallops. Plenty of parking, Claire who owns the cottage is a real treasure, we locked ourselves out but she sorted everything out for us in a clam & professional manner. Needless to say will be stopping there again. Ideally priced, great for the local pubs (Black Sheep Beer Mmmmmmmmmm). Many thanks for a lovey stay X

Just returned from a weeks stay in Pony Cube Cottage.. Not our first visit to Middleham, but our first time in this particular cottage. We love everything about this little town, it's so friendly, with a few shops and enough places to eat and drink. The racehorses are a great attraction and it was lovely to see and hear them again. There was a real buzz around the town this week due to the Cheltenham Gold Cup event. The cottage is lovely, everything you need is supplied. Welcome pack of goodies, comfortable bed and the thickest fluffiest towels ever, after a powerful shower. Favourite bit, the open fire. Loved it.

The location and cleaniness of the cottage.. The social aspect of the village. Very good base for visiting different places.

Had an excellent wintery weekend getaway at Pony Cube in January 2019. The cottage itself is beautiful - combines the rustic feel of a country cottage with new modern kitchen and bathroom fittings - best of both worlds! Excellent location - Middleton village is very peaceful, except for the sound of trotting racehorses which is delightful. Plenty of good pubs nearby and a very well-stocked shop. Hosts were very generous, providing advice and maps for the local area. It's a great starting point for exploring the national park. Will be back for another break soon!

Pony Cube is a beautiful cottage in a great location.. We got a lovely and unexpected welcome gift on arrival and had everything we needed to make a cup of tea and light a roaring fire. The cottage is well equipped and tastefully decorated. We’d definitely book again! Thanks for having us.

We (2 adults, 2 children) spent a fabulous weekend at Pony Cube cottage. The cottage is perfect, it’s cosy and traditional with all the mod cons you need. There are lots of beautiful walks straight from the door, the castle is a short stroll and it was great seeing the racehorses off to the gallops in the morning . We just wished we’d had longer as there is so much to do, we’ll be back in the summer to bathe at one of the many perfect swimming spots on the river and to go to Forbidden Corner.

A lovely cottage, full of character and beautifully done out to provide you with everything you need for a great break. Although we wanted to get away from it all we were pleased to discover that the village has 4 pubs, a good fish &chip shop and a well stocked village shop. Great walks from the doorstep and also lots of lovely local places to visit nearby. My partner thought the bathroom was wonderful and now wants us to remodel ours based on this!

Had a wonderful week staying in Pony Cube cottage with my wife and two children (aged 2 and 4) in August 2018. The cottage was clean and obviously well looked after with a lovely kitchen and bathroom. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable. The house had everything we needed for our stay, broadband worked well, there was a google chromecast available in order to access catch-up TV, a good selection of board games were available and towels were included. The owners left a brilliant pack of information for things to do in the local area as well as all necessary instructions for the cottage. The location was also great, the cottage is located within a stone's throw of the village centre of Middleham, its pubs and its brilliant castle. The working nature of the village, including the daily routine of horse trainers, didn't bother us at all - the kids loved the horses walking by the house en route to the gallops. Overall a great place to stay and we'll definitely be back.

Firstly the parking situation was difficult especially on an incline and busy road we unpacked right by the front steps and parked across the road on left downhill rest of the week.. Busy road extremely noisy you mention the Horses only wish it had been just horses they were amazing to see and riders very polite how they cope with the through traffic I can’t think. The back kitchen and bedroom modern windows much less noise. The size of property especially the small landing and steep stairs should be mentioned we did not think it suitable for less able or young children (despite your past customer quote on the site) the only addition should be a Microwave! Who needs to warm breakfast milk in a saucepan! The town pub restaurants were very good the walk to the Gallops was lovely we have been to the Dales many times but never Middleham if only it was restful and relaxing we would go again. Most certainly Yorkshire has so much beautiful scenery to offer. Thankyou

We felt that the cottage was inadequate for four adults as the dining table was too small to accomodate them - in our case there were only two of us, so the facilities were adequate.. Also, I felt that the number of marketing e-mails that I received were excessive and if I continue to receive so many, I shall mark them as "spam" .

The road outside the cottage is very busy and it was quite noisy on an evening sometimes, also only a few sheets of toilet roll when we arrived and no tea towels so nothing to dry crockery etc.. Otherwise very nicely furnished and comfortable.
