Beautiful cottage on a farm with fantastic views.. This is the second time we have stayed here and would go so again. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The lady who runs the cottages is very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the cooker, rang her and within 5 minutes she was there fixing the problem!! Would heartily recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a relaxing home from home holiday.

This cottage is beautiful.. Well equipped, I cooked a Christmas Day dinner for seven people easily, lots of utensils. The owners think of everything so that your stay gets off to a brilliant start. Tea bags, sugar, coffee, milk, dishwasher tablets, logs, fire starters, tin foil, cling film! Amazing!! Met the owners as we were walking our dog, very friendly, checked all was well and said any problems let her know. Cannot recommend this cottage highly enough, set on a farm in a beautiful area. You will have a relaxing, fantastic holiday.

Great little cottage, ideal for a family, 3 good size bedrooms.. Kids really liked the canal and the paddock full of chickens. Parking was right next to the cottage which was a bonus for us. Lovely stay thank you.

Lovely cottage and extremely well equipped, however unsuitable for dogs if weather bad (which it was when we stayed).. Kitchen is upstairs via clean carpeted staircase so muddy dogs are not ideal. There is no gate and the garden is not secure therefore leaving outside is not an option either. Apart from this the place is fine, although if we came again we would choose Katy cottage. This one on the farm is much better both for views and reasons stated. Great owner and conveniently placed for all surrounding walks/entertainment.

We would like to say that all that was advertised was delivered and more.. We went as a 3 generation family group - youngest being 9 so Xmas a very important event. Took with us a pop up Xmas Tree and various decorations - only to find the cottage already 'bedecked'. All in all we were amazed by the high standard of every aspect of the cottage. In reality it was a home from home !!

Lovely cottage situated next to the canal.. Had everything we needed. We were going to yarn dale and were able to walk there from the cottage in 10 mins . Nice and quiet location would love to go back and would recommend to anyone wanting a base for exploring this lovely area.

The whole experience from booking with Sykes to enjoying a wonderful stay at Niffany Barn was superb.. So easy and friendly, and with such a professional and pleasant approach from the staff at Sykes. It gave us confidence when we booked the holiday with them. We had travelled from Spain with our Spanish friends, who had never visited the UK. Their experience of the booking and payment process was wonderful. Paying the deposit and final payment later is a great idea. The accommodation at Niffany Barn is fantastic, the owner Jeanette is so nice and she obviously works very hard to offer such a high standard of accommodation. Everything that you could possibly want is available at Niffany Barn, its so comfortable, and we felt at ease and relaxed, there really isn't anything that is missing. Thank You. The area around the Yorkshire Dales is beautiful. We couldn't have asked for more for our first visit to Yorkshire, and the first visit to the UK for our friends. Thank you to all who helped us have a wonderful holiday.

A wonderful well equipped cottage.. Jennette is a lovely welcoming host and the cottage was perfect for a gathering of assorted Australian friends holidaying in Yorkshire. The eggs were cheap and we had to wait until they were laid so as fresh as possible. Only niggle was the bogginess of the towpath to Skipton but that dried up as the week went on and was not the fault of the cottage or the hosts!

Beautiful comfortable cottage in an excellent location. We came for Grassington Christmas market and Skipton market and the cottatge was well placed for both. Everything we needed was there, comfy beds and plenty of space for 6 of us. Skipton an easy walk along the tow path so no need to struggle in with the car. Would definitely like to visit in the summer and do some exploring of the surrounding area. Many thanks to the owners.

Wonderful location.. We were able to do a 12 mile circular walk from the property, and to walk into Skipton along the towpath.

We stayed at Niffany Barn when we attended a friend's Friday wedding in the area, with 6 of us looking to make a weekend of it. We would highly recommend Jennette and these recent additions to her farm. Although we didn't see Jennette in person, communication by e-mail and 'phone was good, and she was flexible in accommodating our arrival time. The location is great: we walked into Skipton for dinner on the Sat evening (~25 minute walk via canal towpath or road), and took advantage of the proximity to the dales going for a 3 hour circular walk out from the front door taking in Thorlby, Sharp Haw, and the towpath towards Liverpool. The cottage itself is well appointed. After a long day of dancing and ushering we very much appreciated the comfortable beds, and on the rainy Sat morning we took full advantage of the 1st floor living room with it's reclining chairs, wood burning stove (with wood provided), and views of the canal, hills, and garden. All the rooms were very clean, everything worked, and there was enough parking for our three cars. Many thanks!

Located on the side of the Leeds to Liverpool canal we all found Niffany an ideal site for the Dales . You can walk into Skipton town in around 25 minutes or head the other way to Gargrave around 4 miles will take around 80 minutes along the tow path . The upside down accommadation gives great views of the canal and beyond . All bedrooms are clean and good sized with comfortable beds . Upstairs theres a large lounge with multifuel stove and reclining sofa,s the kitchen follows suit been well appointed along with bathroom with bath and shower .Outside there is small paved area with seating ,gas BBQ,small raised grass area and parking for two cars Visited Malham cove , great for walking and lunched at The Lister Arms (Butchers board recommended) . Keelham farm shop a short drive is good for your groceries or eating out . Also on site are a row of three new cottages and a caravan and camping site . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with two generations and two dogs

Niffany Barn is situated on a working farm next to the Leeds Liverpool Canal. The property is new and well furnished. It is well equipped and the owners are pleasant and helpful. the property allows holidaymakers to take their pets. The lounge has a multi-fuel stove which makes the room warm and cosy. The heating system is efficient and keeps the property warm. It is an ideal spot for a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales.

Clean, comfortable and welcoming. The barn is on a working farm next to the Leeds & Liverpool canal. The walk into Skipton (30 mins) along the towpath is picturesque and interesting. The property has the bedrooms on the ground floor with the large lounge and kitchen / dining room upstairs, which might deter the infirm. Strong wi-fi signal. Niffany Barn is close to the Skipton by-pass which makes it ideal for exploring the Dales without having to drive through the town.

Niffany Barn is a great place to stay - the accommodation is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped (even a tea cosy!) with magical views of the canal and surrounding countryside. We particularly appreciated the milk in the fridge when we arrived so we could have a cup of tea before venturing out to the supermarket, the lazyboy sofas and armchair and the very comfortable mattresses. The location is also good - 15-20 minutes walk along the towpath into Skipton meant that we could leave the car behind on a couple of days when we went to Skipton Castle and woods and when we got the train to Saltaire and Leeds. Easy access to lots of interesting walks and the Dales. Only slight downside was that only two of us could use wifi at one time and wifi on laptop seemed very slow.

A lovely charming cottage. The cottage had a lovely ambiance, and it's very private especially the garden which is a great sun trap. There is a designated space to park for one car and plenty of car parking availability a few steps away. There were fab walks on the doorstep.

We enjoyed the rural location but also appreciated its proximity to Skipton and the walk into town along the canal tow path. The cottage is spacious and very well furnished; the upside-down layout makes the most of the views. An ideal base for enjoying the glorious Yorkshire Dales.

The cottage was only a short walk into Skipton so we didn't need to drive all of the time. Quiet, pretty countryside and central to lots of tourist attractions.

I booked Niffany Barn for three nights to stay in the region for our son's wedding celebrations. The Barn is absolutely superb, bigger than the photos make it look. The beds were comfortable and the lounge was made to lounge around! We had intended going out and about, but we didnt, we stayed in (when we werent at the wedding etc) I would thoroughly recommend Niffany Barn both for the accommodation but also the friendliness and approachability of the owners. They allowed us to stay in their lovely cottage and just relax. We felt secure even when the house was unlocked. We had no need to worry about anything. Waking to the sound of the cows was an added bonus!

The Barn is light and airy and was comfortably warm when we put on the heating on frosty nights. We were also very fortunate in having chosen a week when the weather was superb for the time of year. The owner was most friendly and helpful.

May 2014
It was a fantastically positioned cottage; a pleasant walk along a canal tow path to the town, the station and 2 supermarkets. Or easy access to roads leading all over Yorkshire and further. It is part of a working farm so eggs available and the farmer's wife was friendly and helpful. There were views from the windows of the lovely Yorkshire countryside. I would recommend it to anyone.

This lovely idyllic cottage was perfect for us in the town of Skipton. The 3 bedroomed cottage was very well maintained and was exceptional fully equipped. We stayed for a weekend in November and the weather was fabulous. We arrived on the Friday night to be greeted by Jennette who explained where everything was and we even phoned for directions as there was a diversion on the road which was no trouble for her. We had a brilliant first evening playing the games that were in the cupboard and sitting in front of roaring log fire. It was so quiet we all over slept on the Saturday but who needs to pop to the shops for breakfast when you can pop to the small out house and buy via the honesty box fresh eggs that had been laid that morning!! The cottage was immaculately clean, very well presented and full of local information of things to do, places to see and eat if you didn't fancy cooking in the well equipped kitchen. There was even a phone number for a baby sitting service. We enjoyed a trip on a barge down the canal and also trip to Bolton Abbey during our stay. Both we found out about from the information in the cottage. There is a couple of large supermarkets a 5 minute drive away and the center of Skipton which includes a market and the Castle. The views are amazing we watched the barges up and down the canal. All in all we couldn't have asked for a more warm welcome and a beautiful clean very well equipped cottage. We are booking next year in the spring so that we can see the new born lambs and enjoy the BBQ that is outside.

Fantastic property in an excellent location. Niffany Barn offers real home comforts, fantastic views all within a real working farm. As a bonus the centre of the bustling town of Skipton is only 20 minutes stroll away along the canal, or a few minutes drive down the road.

This property was ideally situated for touring all areas of the Dales National Park as well as being close to Skipton for all shopping needs and restaurants etc. Although on a main road it was very peaceful and the walks from the door were lovely.

The property was comfortable and very well equipped with everything you could want for a very comfortable stay. Love the quietness as it is the only holiday property on the farm.

6 of us, 3 couples stayed at Niffany Barn. The newly decorated and furnished property was well equipped with lovely views of the local countryside from the upstairs living room and kitchen. It was fascinatng watching boats sailing past and lambs playing in the adjacent fields. Being on an active farm adds character and interest to the stay . Walks along the canal towpath allow attractive views of the countryside. Skipton with its shops and markets is a few minutes drive or a brisk 20 minute walk along the towpath. We were lucky to be there when the canal festval was on - great fun. There are lots of places to eat in Skipton and plenty of places to visit in the area.
