A lovely, comfortable, cosy cottage.. Great location, lovely walks directly from the house if you don't want to drive. Easy to walk into Hawes for shops, restaurants and pubs. Although the kitchen is small it had all items we needed during our stay. We cooked in more than we would normally on a holiday. Loved the woodburner, although the property is lovely and warm when the heating comes on. Would love to stay again.

Maybe the steep stairs should be mentioned in the description.. We were OK but it would be hard for anyone with limited mobility Excellent location, didn't need to move the car much. Walking from the door and plenty of facilities in nearby Hawes. Warm cottage with good facilities and comfy bed

Gayle is a lovely peaceful area within easy walking distance of Hawes and although only there for a short break we were able to enjoy some of the many walks from the cottage.. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and welcoming having been presented to a high standard and is just as shown in the photographs. We would definitely go again.

Access to the property was difficult and would have been almost impossible with a large vehicle.. We were told about this before travelling but NOT before booking. We found no evidence of underfloor heating in the bathroom but this was not a problem as the cottage was very cosy and warm. Perhaps this is only available in the winter? The cottage was extremely well equipped, better than any other we have visited and everything worked, which is not always the case. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend the cottage to anyone with a small vehicle and the ability to climb the two steep flights of stairs.

Good cosy clean cottage as described in the listing.. Only thing to be aware of is that the kitchen hot tap is scalding so watch out. Location is grear for walking and all seven days were from the cottage door and the car never moved from arrival until leaving. 10 min walk into Hawes with pubs and eateries aplenty. For good normal food make sure you try the Wenslydale Pantry opposite The Crown Inn on Hawes main street. The entrance is a side door on the left of the Spar shop, it's open till 7pm and is fully licensed. Hawes is a must place to visit.

Superbly set up with great facilities.. Didn’t need anything extra. Nice location with brilliant walks from the cottage. Quiet with friendly neighbours. Just go careful with the car down narrow lane.

Cottage was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Hawes.. The access road to the cottage was narrow but I have a SAAB car and was able to park at the front of the cottage without any problems.

We completely agree with the previous feedback we had read about Mill Cottage.. It is a lovely building and beautifully restored to a high standard. it is comfortable and pretty and the bathroom is probably the most comfortable (warm) and spacious I can remember in any cottage we have stayed in! the location was also great for us, it was so nice to be able to walk into town to eat and /or shop and to start walks from the door. not having to use the car every day added to our sense of relaxation.

The cottage had everything you would need and more, and so thoughtfully provided.. We were 3 ladies of a certain age and loved being cabined-up in this cosy cottage whilst the weather raged outside. It was absolutely fabulous and cant wait to return.

Lovely peaceful little cottage in Gayle good base for leaving the car and walking, cottage had everything needed for a relaxing visit.. Although the lane is very narrow once you get to the cottage there is enough space for a car outside the property. The sun in the morning was lovely and we took some chairs outside the front of the cottage and had a cup of tea and watched all the little birds. Easy to walk into Hawks also. Will hopefully visit again soon.

Nice small cottage.. Clean with good facilities especially the bathroom that had underfloor heating (very useful on cold mornings). About a half mile walk into Hawes which has plenty of shops and pubs. Close to the wensleydale creamery which is worth a visit.

We had a wonderful stay and this cottage was really lovely, be warned about the tight access though to the cottage via car.. It's fine for myself but for some people in maybe slightly off putting.

A quiet, cosy cottage, full of character but with all mod cons. The living area and kitchen are quite compact but well thought out and there is a separate store/utility for bikes etc . The bathroom is huge but very cosy with underfloor heating. It is very convenient for Gayle Mill which runs superb heritage craft courses (one of the reasons we were there). Within easy walking distance of Hawes which offers a variety of shops (but no supermarkets!), pubs and restaurants. Access to the parking area outside the cottage is quite tight but is actually quite easy once you've done it a couple of times. We liked it so much that we'll be booking again in 2017 when taking another course at Gayle Mill.

Liked the location and the peace and quiet, it was far enough off the beaten track to be secluded but close enough to towns and features/attractions to access them. A very comfortable little cottage, ideally suited for two or three people with well kitted out facilities and no intrusive noise from locals or other tourists. The inclusive electric heating is highly effective, the included WiFi appreciated and the underfloor bathroom heating - what joy!
