Margaret's Cottage is a traditional stone built, mid-terraced cottage in the small village of Low Row in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to the village of Reeth. Comprising one double bedroom, one twin and a family bathroom, this cottage is suitable for four people. The rest of the cottage is made up of a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with an electric fire. Outside the cottage there is a terraced garden to the front with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, as well as off road parking for one car. Being so well located, Margaret's Cottage is the perfect base for a family wishing to explore all of the delights of this part of the Yorkshire Dales.

Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, basin & WC. Fitted kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with wood burner.

Area
A scattering of traditional farms and cottages make up the village of Low Row situated to the north of the River Swale. The village of Reeth just a short drive away dates back to Saxon times and became of sufficient size and importance to be mentioned in the Domesday Book. Its eighteenth-century houses and hotel clustered around the triangular village green make it one of the very popular Dales villages. Askrigg better known to millions as Darrowby in TV's James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small" is just a short drive away as well as Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force (England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft).

A warm welcome on arrival and everything in the cottage just as described. Close to a pub for evening meals. Easy walks from the door. Great location to unwind and relax.

We had a lovely holiday, the cottage was very well equipped , not to mention that the location was just superb.. The owner was very friendly and always happy to help - our kids even got to feed the lambs ! The only thing that could have been made clearer was that the garden was open , therefore 'shared' with next door neighbours and dogs. While the patio set was nice, the table (coffee table style) wasn't really handy for us as we couldn't have breakfast or diner outside. We had a great weather that week so really would have love to eat out in the garden. This said, the cottage was well equipped and very clean.

We needed to change our booking but were not able to access the website that allowed is to change the week, or have phone contact which was extremely frustrating and stressful.. However the cottage itself was beautiful and peaceful and the owner very friendly and more than helpful. Apart from the booking issue (which I can understand was mostly from the overwhelming difficulties due to Covid 19) we had a very enjoyable holiday.

A well equipped and very warm and comfortable cottage, well located for a quiet break in Swaledale. Carol, the owner, is very helpful and welcoming. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

I had an enjoyable time in Margaret's cottage.. It is an attractive and comfortable cottage. The views are great. I went on walks in Low Row, Healaugh, Keld and beside the Swale. Reeth is a lovely town to visit. The CB and Punch Bowl are great pubs.

Just had a lovely week away at this cottage lovely views and fully equipped cottage great walks right outside to reeth 3mile gunnerside 2mile and easy drive within 30mins of other villages richmond and leyburn thanks to carol the owners dad helping with car loved chatting to them and what alovely place really enjoyed

We loved our stay at Margaret’s Cottage’- stunning scenery and wildlife in abundance.. Sand martens in the river bank, and up on the moor red grouse, lapwings and curlews. The owner was so friendly and helpful. The cottage had everything we needed and it was great to be right in the heart of the Dales. Perfect for a very peaceful holiday. The local pub is excellent too. Recommend if you are looking to completely unwind.

The cottage is delightful and the views from the master bedroom and the sitting room are astonishing.. The shower is a little eccentric but that is being addressed this winter we believe. I would happily return there.

This is the 3rd time we have been to this cottage in the last few years .. The log burner is a great addition and we did enjoy our stay , however just 2 little things we did not have any spare toilet rolls or bin bags . As I say just little things but needed to mention .

We absolutley loved the cottage as soon as we saw the pictures on your Syke's websits.. ...when we arrived we weren't dissapointed the quirky cottage was perfect for what we needed...with a handy pub a walk up the drive. ..the owners were lovey and helpful with directions etc.....the most fabulous views from the double bedroom are second to none. ...it was just perfick.....the shower is noisy as another reviewer said, and the bathroom suffers from not having an outside window...but that is what you get from a cottage that wasn't built to house a bathroom in the 1700's..it didn't harm our holiday.....the fact that you can walk straight to the river from the house without having to go on the roads is wonderful, after a day sight seeing and walking the dales you can still take an evening walk down and along the river.second sykes cottage we have rented this year..and I'm sure we will be using your dog friendly cottages again.

Very good only complaint would be the shower which needs looking at, makes an awful noise.. But saying that it was very good and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

The cottage is in a great location with excellent views.. The owner has thought of everything with regards to equipping the cottage, there is everything you need at hand. There is a local pub within walking distance and the village of Reeth is a short drive away with a couple of very good walks starting and ending in the village. The added bonus of pubs serving food, open fires and dog friendly. I would like to thank the owner and her husband for making us feel welcome and for helping me out of a sticky situation with my car, they couldn't have been more helpful.

Booked this stunning cottage for my birthday with the family and our lovely dog. It was just perfect and we couldn't have asked for more. The view from the back is stunning, the quality of the cottage was excellent and not shabby at all. we were very happy and had a wonderful break. A superb base to explore the dales.

We live in Harrogate, wanted a week away but not to far. Found this cottage in Swaledale a area not visited before. So we duly booked it, have just got back what a brilliant week we had glorious weather apart from one day. Lovely cosy warm cottage with unbelievable views across and up swaledale, plenty of chairs to sit on and admire the views even a summer house. As I've said didn't travel far, but we could have been a million miles away the peace and quiet was bliss watching all the wildlife, we even saw a mole. Must not forget to mention Basil the cat who greeted us every morning. Plenty of places to eat, would recommend the Punch Bowl within walking distance and the Farmers Arms at Muker. Reeth a charming place would seem to have everything you might need. All in all a lovely holiday and a very comfy Yorkshire cottage.

The location was perfect for us and this comfortable cottage with a south facing view over the Dale made for a grand stay. The cottage was very well appointed and spotless. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything that you could possibly need when cooking on holiday. The fridge-freezer was large. The provision of a washing machine was very useful. The living room was equipped with a good quality television and also a Blu-Ray player, which was a nice touch. The hot water was always boiling hot and there was plenty of it. The patio at the front of the house enjoys stunning views up and down the dale, and it was wonderful to sit out in the mornings and listen to the birdsong. We had a wonderful time, and will definitely be returning to stay here.

The views from the property were so beautiful and there are many good walks straight from the property and it was central to visit many interesting areas by car. The Punchbowl hotel/pub was very close and within walking distance and was very welcoming for a drink and meal after a long walk. Also the owners were very welcoming and made sure our stay went smoothly.
