The village is also within easy driving distance of York, the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and Heritage Coast.

Just back from a 2 night stay at this lovely little cottage in the Dales. Overall impressions very good. The cottage was very clean and very well equipped and we could have happily stayed for anther couple of nights. I think the Sykes Cottages photos portray the cottage externally better than it actually was, with it needing a propery tidy up outside. The cheap plastic plant had faded and was wonky and the other planter outside the front door was full of stagnant water and nothing else! The cottage is very well equipped. The cottage manual needs to be updated slightly as some of the info was wrong. Minor detail. A lovely log fire with plenty of logs. The bedroom was lovely and the bed fantastic. I would return although there's not much happening in MIddleham itself.

Our third stay here. It is still wonderful, but some changes made by the new owners did not make it better. Mostly disturbing is the new disposition in the living-dining area. The sofa in this direction is killing the space and the atmosphere. Tv much too large for this room. And as we like to cook, as son as you set the table you cannot move anymore. The decor changed to a no ecological friendly one.. no need to have all this battery candles and plastic flowers. Compared to the last stays the cottage lost some comforts. Sofa needs a upholstery, the kitchen is missing some items the made the other stays perfect.missing washing powder pads, a better possibility to put the washed dishes.left expired food in cupboard.the cottage would need a deep clean. Not as immaculate clean as it used to be. Hoover was blocked; needed 1/2 an hour to make it works.we do still love the cottage, but we know it can be better! Another thing very disturbing is that the code for the key safe is remaining the same all the time.not very professional.

Absolutely gorgeous, cosy cottage.. Everything was provided so we didn't need to do a big shop - cleaning stuff etc already there. Love Middleham, definitely recommend the Richard the Third pub - food amazing and comes in big quantities! This is our 3rd time here to Middleham, we will be back. Helen

The cottage was gorgeous, very cosy and the owner had made good use of the space available.. It was a joy to return to after a day out and about. It was extremely clean, well presented with a lovely welcome pack. Everything worked as it should too. Our only two minor concerns which may be more personal to us was that we didn’t find the bed comfortable so didn’t sleep particularly well and the duvet, although fluffy was heavy making us too warm. Also there was a house/flat opposite which had very loud music playing until late which could be heard over the noise on the tv- looking out from the kitchen door, opposite to the window below. Other than that, it was perfect, thank you.

We had a great holiday in the cottage.. It was very comfortable and well equipped. We could not have asked for any more. Middleham is a lovely and very friendly village with very good coffee shops and restaurants. It is also in a great position for exploring other parts of N.Yorkshire either by car or by foot. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

In & Out cottage was fantastic.. The owners have gone over and above by providing items that you might need whilst away. The cottage was immaculate and all as advertised. Extremely good value for money and we had a really lovely week away. Thank you very much.

We had a wonderful time at the in and out cottage in wensleydale.. When we first stepped into the cottage we were amazed at how beautiful it was. We felt a warm welcome with wine and little goodies left for us to enjoy. It was fresh and clean and had everything we needed. In the evening we got to enjoy the cosey log fire with the fresh logs and coal that was left for us to use. The little village surrounding the cottage was beautiful with breathtaking landscapes for us to admire. The owners of the local pub owners made us feel really welcome and provided a lovely service of hospitality, good food and gave us all a memeorable time . We founds lots to do and see , experiencing all of our expectations of the countryside. We visited the local rivers and towns, went fishing at woodland lakes, toured Bolton castle, and shopped for gifts in the lovely town of Leyburn. The cottage was perfect for a relaxing breakaway and a perfect location to explore the Yorkshire dales. We will defenitly be returning in the future.

The cottage was ideal for our needs.. The cottage was ideally situated in a central position to allow us to explore the Yorkshire Dales, and to follow our interests in bird watching, photography and generally allowing us the chance to survey beautiful scenery.

Fantastic cottage in a great location, the cottage has been very tastefully renovated to a high standard and is spotlessly clean! Will definitely be booking again!

The cottage is lovely and very clean everything you would want is supplied and the welcome tray of wine and nibbles was a nice touch.. If there was one thing that could make it even better it is if the hot water tap in the shower room ,which has very low pressure , could be made to run a bit faster but this did not affect our stay from being excellent .

Just back from a long weekend at this exquisite cottage where everything, and I really mean everything, has been thought of by the owners. As soon as we set foot inside on Friday afternoon it felt like a home from home. A toasty warm welcome thanks to the heaters having been left on in readiness for our arrival. The lounge is spacious yet cosy with a huge TV(with freeview), soft squishy sofa, a thick soft rug underfoot and a log burner (which sadly we never had chance to use due to either being late back from an outing or being more than warm enough with the heaters). In one corner but still unobtrusive is the kitchen and a more well equipped kitchen you couldn't ask for. With a choice of pubs with good food in the market square we didn't make much use of it but I could have made a full 3 course dinner for a family with all the equipment available. All very well maintained too. The owner had left a lovely welcome pack of essentials on the unit top but once I opened the cupboard it seemed an entire shop had been left, another great positive. The bedroom was downstairs and again good use of the space has been made with a small but perfectly formed shower room. Luxury fluffy towels in abundance and a whole host of spare toiletries should you need them. The bed was the comfiest bed I have ever slept in. Soft and cosy with a mass of pillows and a snug duck down duvet all giving such a gorgeous smell of fresh laundry. The thoughtful owner however has gone to the trouble of providing a whole extra set of pillows and duvet with a lower tog rating should you desire. Plenty to see and do in the area without travelling too far and if course plenty walks as you would expect in this part if the country. Spotlessly clean throughout and with plenty information about the cottage itself and the surrounding area. Wifi is included along with a starter pack of fuel for the burner. Overall an absolutely fantastic place that we will almost definitely be back to in the future and would highly recommend.

Stayed for 4 days for a long weekend. The cottage is gorgeous, very cosy with log fire, exceptionally clean and tidy. Bed lovely and comfy, can’t find any faults with the cottage. Beautiful walks nearby, great pubs serving nice food. Fabulous place and I sure will be planning on returning again.
