The town has many attractions which include sandy beaches, the ruins of an Abbey, a bustling harbour where there are still fishing boats landing their catch in the early morning, as well as shops, restaurants and pubs. There are rail and bus stations and numerous events all the year such as the Whitby Folk Week.
