A perfect base for exploring all that Scarborough has to offer, and the views across the bay, town and harbour are breathtaking! The cottage is beautifully furnished, although retaining its character and charm, the attention to detail with regards to a modern look, and facilities are second to none. The cottage is listed as sleeping six, but sometimes the actual space within cottages does not always provide adequate actual living space. This was not a problem with Coastwatch. There was plenty of room to sit in the dining room and the living room, and the kitchen was spotless and provided every kind of utensil, etc. for your stay. A small outside backyard accessed via the kitchen contains a washer and tumble dryer (all equipment is only a few months old). There really were no negatives, but considerations should be made with regards to guests' mobility access, as there are steps up to the property, and stairs within the cottage were steep ( although there was a bannister). Parking scratchcards were provided by the owner, and provided us with up to four days free parking in the A2 zones within Scarborough, but this is on a first come first served basis. We did mange to get parked, but otherwise there is a short/long stay car park located down some steps just off the harbour front, in front of the property (£8.00 for 24 hours). I'd advise people to visit this link with regards to the parking if you are unsure how they worked (as we were). https://www.scarborough.gov.uk/home/parking/hotel-guest-house-and-holiday-accommodation-scratchcards
Scarborough was great, and we wouldn't hesitate to book Coastwatch again. Great correspondence with the owner, and some lovely touches such as Christmas decorations, a welcoming card, chocolates and Christmas crackers for our stay. Will definitely be revisiting - thank you for a great stay Nigel.
