Loftus is a small house on the east coast of Yorkshire, home to a busy high street with a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a town hall and leisure centre. Nearby are the coastal village of Runswick Bay and Staithes, whilst the seaside town of Whitby, Spa town of Saltburn, and North York Moors National Park rest further afield.
