The Lodge is a lovely annexe situated close to the village of Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk. Hosting one king-size bedroom with an en-suite wet room, and a cloakroom, this property can sleep up to three people. Inside you will also find a kitchen, and an open-plan lounge/diner with woodburner and sofa bed. To the outside is off road parking, and a private patio and 4 acres of lawned parkland with lake. Resting in a pleasant location with peaceful views, The Lodge is a modern retreat in a charming part of England.

All ground floor. One bedroom: 1 x king-size with en-suite wet room with shower, basin and WC. Cloakroom with basin and WC. Kitchen. Open-plan lounge with dining area with woodburner.

Just spent a couple of days in Suffolk and found this hidden gem by chance. What an absolute delight and pet-friendly too. We had the most wonderful time visiting places such as Thetford Forest and town and Ely. The lodge had it's own private bit of outside space which was great for the dog. The house and lodge are set in 4 acres of mature gardens which were beautiful to sit in and watch the various garden birds. The lake is just idyllic with a seating area to while away the hours watching the dragonflies dancing around and resting on the lily pads. The lodge itself is tastefully decorated with quality fixtures and fittings. The kitchen is well provided for and although I wasn't going to cook I would quite happily have done so with the many utensils and even an apron for use. My only complaint is that the time there went by too quickly which means another visit is the order of the day. Hosts Carol and Ron were on hand if anything was needed but never intrusive. A perfect place for a quick break and next time it'll be for longer.

This accommodation exceeded all our expectations on every level.. The cottage, set in the lovely grounds of the owners home, had everything we needed for our four week stay and it was spotlessly clean. The attention to detail was the best we have experienced in any of our previous bookings through Sykes. Ron and Carol were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. We loved the fresh eggs (provided by your rescued chickens) and the extras provided for our first days stay. We know where we will be staying on our next trip from Australia. The Lodge is a fab little cottage set in a very large garden that makes it very dog friendly.. Great hosts on hand too. Wonderful walks in the Thetford forest only minutes away. A very enjoyable holiday, we shall certainly return.

Renters have the use of the owner's extensive garden, which is really great, especially if you have a dog.. The owner has her own chickens, so fresh eggs are available daily.

Very comfortable, everything we needed for a brilliant, relaxing week away.. The location was perfect and lots of wildlife visited the garden. The owner, Carol was very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. It was nice to see chickens roaming around the garden and the eggs were delicious. The dogs were also very friendly. Very close to shops and pubs. Lots of walks and cycling routes nearby through Thetford Forest. RSPB Lakenheath was nearby where we saw several bitterns closely for the first time. Would definitely recommend the lodge and hope to visit again soon.

A good base for exploring both Norfolk and Suffolk.. Well situated within the town of Brandon for all amenities shops, restaurants etc. Carol was very helpful with anything we needed. The cottage is situated in the grounds of the Old Rectory with approx. 4 acres of land to explore . (Has a fishpond). Free range chickens (rescued battery hens) which produce lovely eggs available every day to purchase from the Carol at the Main house (Rectory). To add to this the weather was wonderful.
