Little bit more remote than we realised.. But all good. Would go back. Would recommend.

March 2019
Nicely equipped house and toasty warm, which was lovely as we have frozen in others! We were three adults, 4 yr old and a baby and I think that capacity was pretty good. The stairs are more of a ladder and there is not space for a stair gate so I would recommend it for older children.

Stable Cottage is a beautiful place to spend a relaxing week.. It is very isolated and has lovely walks around the property. Inside is warm and cosy with plenty of space to spread out.

A truly lovely cottage, beautifully and tastefully renovated with every thing we needed and more.. We loved the log fire and magestic beams throughout. It rained a lot, but this didn't worry us as we got the chance to enjoy the beautiful property. A shop and pub within walking distance, Comfy bedroom with 2 further bedrooms above a narrow slightly steep stairway. A grand showroom of a kitchen. And lovely hosts who made us feel welcome. Will return.

The Stable cottage was ideally suited to visit several National Trust and English Heritage place, which as members of both National Trust and English Heritage meant we got full use of our membership card.. We have already recommended Sykes Cottages to several people, as we always get good accommodation through booking with you.

June 2018
We have had holidays at a number of cottages over the last 10 years and it was a slight disappointment that they was no welcome pack at the Stables, I know this may seem trivial, but you will no doubt agree, that the pack is not important, but the Welcome is..

Very enjoyable stay at this property.. Would suggest that a little more detail on the steep steps (actually a metal ladder) and the second Child bedroom (floor level Beds) would be helpful.

What a fabulous place! A fantastic place to get away from it all and wonderful for families. The kids loved collecting eggs and meeting the horses. The owners could not have been more helpful. The cottage is beautiful and furnished to a high standard. The photos really don't do it justice. Dogs are welcome, which is an added bonus. 100% recommend and will definitely go again.

December 2014
The cottage itself was wonderful. We were there at the beginning of December and it was very warm and cosy. The kitchen/sitting area was large but so were the radiators, and the wood burning stove could be lit if you wanted to stay up very late or just because it looked so pretty. The kitchen was a joy to use, the table was well sized and there were plenty of pots/pans/cutlery so that we could make full use of the dishwasher. The main bedroom on the ground floor is large and the double bed very comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms are gorgeous and are set in the eaves. Indeed, the cottage was so well provided with everything you could need to stay there, so certainly don't think of packing the kitchen sink. The owners have got it just right. They are very pleasant and would have sorted problems if we'd had any, but they really let us feel that the cottage was our 'home' for the time we were there.

December 2013
The whole family enjoyed the holiday very much. The cottage was so relaxing, warm and spacious, exactly as we had seen advertised on the web, 10 out of 10. There was plenty to see and do around the area. We love this part of the country, and will be looking forward to coming over again.

This cottage is a converted stable but has a lot of mod-cons while keeping that old country cottage feel. It was hard to find as it really is in the middle of nowhere(used sat nav but still had trouble) We had 3 generations staying (ages 8-70) The kitchen/living room is very open and quite large. The eaves bedroom is perfect for young kids. The stairs are a little steep. The cottage is surrounded by farmland and fields with horses and chickens. There were fresh eggs and produce available for purchase everyday (reasonably priced too). When we arrived, the owners had provided milk, tea and cookies, which was a nice touch. There was also leaflets and maps for days out. The cottage is about 40 mins from a lot of Norfolk attractions. Things I didn't like - there was no phone (travelling from abroad, we didn't have cell phones) or WiFi. It was also very hot so a fan would have been nice. And there were not many plugs near a mirror. My family were impressed with the cottage and have already recommended it to others.

September 2011
The location was great for accessing all parts of Norfolk. The property was immaculate, the owners lovely and the facilities good.A tumble drier would have made it totally complete. The only comment would be that the third bedroom is really only suitable for very young small children.
Mrs Bermingham

July 2010
We were very much impressed by the warm welcome received, and the freshly laid eggs left in the traditional country cottage kitchen were a nice touch! The beautifully landscaped gardens, with trampoline and friendly family dog make you feel like it's a home from home. Our 3 year old loved the setting, and often asks to go back! We have promised her that we will as we all enjoyed the beautifully decorated Cottage and our stay so much. If we could swap our life in the city for the perfect country get-a-way, we would pick this beautifully finished cottage...
Ms Hatton
June 2010

May 2010
We were made to feel very welcome, and certainly like it was a home from home. It was by far the best family holiday we have had. Our daughter is 3 1/2 and she was perfectly happy running through the grounds, bouncing on the trampoline, playing with the dog and petting the horse. I would very highly recommend this cottage, the photos do not do it justice! Thank you!
Mr Wilks

May 2010
This is one of the most highly refurbished cottages we have stayed in. We regularly travel with our dogs and therefore, have not always had such a lovely property! Its so refreshing look forward to getting home to enjoy the lovely open plan kitchen and eat and drink together! This was a super base to see the local area too with supermarkets a short car drive away to stock up! Based on a small holding, there are horses and chickens to see and its all on the flat therefore lovely for my disabled mother to look around too! You can even buy eggs from the owner to have for breakfast. You wont get fresher!! We would definately consider it for a summer break and would enjoy relaxing at the cottage as well as popping out!
Ms McShea

March 2010
The cottage is in a great location to explore the Norfolk area. The cottage is stunning and the interior is the best I have seen. The grounds are also lovely and if it were closer to my home, would bring along my horse too!

Excellent cottage in good surroundings. Probably the best holiday cottage that I've stayed at in the UK. Equipped and furnished to a very standard. Spacious fully equipped kitchen with range style cooker and large american style fridge freezer. Well placed in central norfolk so easy to get around to all the sites. Only gripe if staying longer would have been the lack of a shower as there is only a (very nice) old fashioned bath and sink.
Mr Mrs Penwill
November 2009
