It’s our second visit to Meadow View.. We find it comfortable and well located for nearby walks at Thorpe Forest and Knettishal Heath. It’s great to have an enclosed garden for the dogs too.

What a fabulous location for rest & relaxation.. Superbly equipped cottage, nothing too much trouble for the friendly owners. Not for those expecting tourist attractions but ideal for nature lovers.

I had a lovely break at Meadow View and just like the name you are surrounded by meadows and woodlands.. The owners, Emma and Dan, are always on hand if you need them. The property itself is a home from home with a secure fenced garden for your dogs to play safely in. I can not recommend more highly and can not wait to return. It’s really was paradise for me x

All good. just need a light out back ,so you can see your dogs when you let them out at night because it is very dark.. Cooking tins need to be replace as they have had their day.But all in all a great stay.

There was difficulty in making contact for key collection and I had to ask Sykes after 4 attempts.. The owner had put the heating on ready for our arrival which was appreciated. In the instruction book in the cottage it said there was complimentary tea and coffee but the containers were empty. The kitchen would benefit from a couple of saucepans with lids. This is a very pleasant cottage for a relaxing stay.

If doing home cooking some of the equipment could be updated - eg.. sharp kitchen knives (large & small)

Firstly, I will start with a positive - the actual farm was very picturesque with beautiful woodlands to walk through, was also within walking distance to the village shops.. The cottage was very modern with everything you could ask for, as well as tastefully decorated. The family that run the farm are lovely and friendly. However, we found the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Kitchen cupboards had clearly been wiped down with either a dirty or greasy cloth, leaving smear marks all over the highly glossed units. Dusty with cobwebs and spiders everywhere - I understand it’s a working farm, but a quick flick round with the feather duster in the crevices would have been ample. Finally, again - I understand it’s a working farm - but the flies there are a real problem! By the sounds of it it’s an annual problem too, in which case, maybe provide magnetic netting in the doors and windows to possibly alleviate this issue. We couldn’t open windows or doors without there being an influx of flies literally bombarding the rooms! With the weather being quite nice, we found this very unfortunate as it was quite hot and stuffy inside. We were supplied with fly spray, swats and fly tape but had to ask for these. I would like reiterate that the family that live on the farm are very friendly and helpful.

Possibly the best lodge we have stayed in, the host`s were very accommodating and very friendly, the lodge itself was spotless when we arrived and with a little welcome pack, the location was idyllic but as a fisherman the lake was a bit of a let down, but with a fishery only half a mile down the road it was not a problem, if you go with children then they would love catching the small fish in the lake.. Sykes you have done it again with this wonderful Norfolk retreat, we will most certainly return.

We have rented many cottages in the UK and abroad and this cottage exceeded our expectations due to its facilities, clenliness and surroundings.. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable.. However there was a serious lack of cooking utensils...only 2 small saucepans and only one of those had a lid. Also the cooks knives were extremely blunt to the point that they were unusable (wouldn't cutter butter comes to mind). There was also a lack of instructions as to how to use the equipment and instructions about refuse collection. Having said all that, we would go back again, taking our own knives etc. we had a very relaxing week even though the weather could have been better, but unfortunately we cannot book that, can we.

A lovely comfortable cottage in quiet rural surroundings.. Surrounded by 150 acres of farmland that you can walk in from the door, absolutely ideal for dog owners who want nice long walks through fields and woods. The cottage has an enclosed garden, but with all that space dogs will love walking outside. Nice comfy beds and chairs, lovely and warm( March) and lots of logs. I would thoroughly recommended Meadow View for a peaceful , quiet slice of rural Norfolk.
