We had a lovely stay at Beechwood.. Very relaxing, a treat for my sisters 70th birthday. The cottage had everything you could want, although it was out in the country, it was not far from many beautiful places. The only downside was due to the Covid, everywhere was busy as people had stayed in the UK for their holidays. Car parking was at a premium.

We think the kettle has a leak at the bottom.. We had a lovely break very peaceful . beds could be more comfortable but not too bad.

This is our 4th holiday at Acorn Cottages and we enjoy it everytime.. Very comfy accommodation and the surrounding area is so peaceful and there is plenty do do and see. Penthsthorpe and Holkham are a must and a very nice beach at Wells. Will be back again in the near future. Mark (Ipswich).

Spacious and well equipped accommodation.. Some maintenance issues but not major. Due to Covid-19, the children’s play areas were closed. Understandable but disappointing for the children. Maybe the property description Should be amended to reflect this.

The accommodation was spacious, clean, comfortable, warm and a stylish mixture of old and new.. We arrived after dark but Christmas lights lit up our way. Home-made buns were a pleasant surprise and went down well with our first cup of tea. The friendly owner called in to check that everything was ok and was always around to offer help and advice.

Accessible rural location, which was great for us, as one of our group has mobility difficulties.. No steps to contend with and plenty of outside lighting if required. We stayed in November so were grateful for the outside lights, equally we were able to enjoy some wildlife...saw an owl and a hare what a treat. The barn was comfortable with plenty of storage, heating and hot water. Would stay again.

The property was larger than it appeared in the photos which was a bonus.. The only minor niggle was the towels - bath sheets would be more luxurious and save blushes

We arrived in the dark the owners had put the lights on in the cottage a most welcoming sight.. It was warm and and had everything to make a welcome brew with a cake to go with it. I had not expected the cottage to be so spacious. We booked the cottage to go to the Thursford extravaganza which came up to it’s marvellous best again. I really regret not booking it for longer. It is a most relaxing place. It is a place that lends itself for a friends or family gett together with the courtyard in the centre of the cottages.

Overall the cottage was good a few small things that wouldn't take much would have made it perfect the twin bedroom with only one bedside table made it difficult for the elderly residents sleeping there without a bedside cabinet for a light and a drink whilst the overall cleanliness was good the patio widows were very dirty the cooker is old and takes ages for the oven to get hot and barely reaches temperature the hobs are also slow to react .. The bedside lamps in the main room have passed their best and give out poor light as they are small although do the job I guess but a bigger lamp would have been nice.

Cottage was bigger than anticipated.. Comfortable and within driving distance of all attractions in the area. WiFi didn't work when we arrived and had been off all the week before but was fixed on the Monday after ringing the property manager on Saturday. Nice welcome pack but strange not having owners nearby to speak to.

The wifi and toaster didn't work.. The crockery and glasses were so old the glaze had come off meaning they felt dirty even though they had been dishwashed. The cottage was a lovely size. This cottage is very rural and you do have to drive everywhere.

We arrived very late but what a lovely surprise.. The cottage was so spacious and fully equipped including a washer dryer. There were some cakes and fresh milk coffee and tea waiting for us which was a lovely touch. We really did not want to come home. Fantastic location central to most places. Kid friendly. Thank you we will definately be booking again.

A note for Beechwood Cottage, Wood Norton is that a better shower head would be good as the one provided was very weak.. Also the dishwasher needed more salt, rinse aid and also leaked onto the floor. The bedroom next to the main bedroom could do with a bedside cabinet instead of a chair with a bedside light next to it. Touch lamps in all bedrooms would be helpful. Also bigger bath towels as you couldn't call them bath towels which were provided. Apart from the above we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Quite remote, worth telling people that the pub,a mile away, has had a fire ,and has not been used for 2yrs,say locals,I'm sure this was used in the plus points.. Quite a journey through country roads at night for your dinner.

Fantastic cottages.. 10 of us stayed in two cottages. They are so much bigger than I was expecting. Really spacious, plenty of room for 10 of us to hang out and have dinner without using the other cottage to much, apart from for sleeping. Fantastic outdoor space felt very safe for the children to play freely. Would definitly reccommend and hope to book again.
