A lovely cottage in a lovely area.. Sparkling clean and although there wasn’t the usual embellishment i.e. cushions etc. due to the COVID pandemic, there was everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. The spiral staircase took a little getting used to, but was perfectly fine for us. Paul and Edwina were very welcoming and gave us lots of information regarding the local area. We would certainly book Valley View again in the future.

The spiral staircase to the bedroom makes this property limited to fit and healthy people only..

Holiday cottage was beautifully presented and in a glorious location.. Owners very helpful and welcoming - would definately stay again if ever in the area. Important to follow the simple directions to the property as we were unable to locate just with SatNav when travelling from a different direction.

The views from the cottage were beautiful and grounds were nice and clean.. The owners were friendly and there is a welcome basket. The downsides were the tiny staircase leading to upstairs bedroom which is pretty small and has no toilet facilities. The bed was not the most comfortable. Despite listing WiFi the cottage definitely doesn’t have this. You have to go outside and find a place to stand near the owners cottage to use theirs. Despite this it’s a really lovely place and extremely well equipped. Cute friendly dogs. It’s great for walkers who are used to country roads

This is a beautiful cottage in a great location.. And I had a lovely week of exploring the area but I think the owner really needs to bear in mind that the phone signal there is virtually non existant and they dont provide wifi so as a single traveller myself its important for me to be able to keep in touch with family. I was having to walk up the road every night to get a phone signal. The owner gives you the password to their own wifi but you can only get that if you push your equipment right up against the wood burning stove and then its very weak ... the cottage next door couldnt get any signal at all . The complimentary jam crisps and cider were a very nice touch but after a 180 miles drive all you want is a cup of tea so a complimentary tea and coffee tray would have been great

The cottage was well clean, comfortable, well presented and situated in a peaceful area.. The only downside was the narrow spiral staircase up to the bedroom which you had to be fairly agile to cope with.

Beautiful 1 bed cottage on a small farm that keeps Alpacas & a rare breed of black sheep.. The cottage was extremely well furnished and the kitchen area included a dishwasher and washing machine. The luxury bathroom had a walk in shower. Although a bit off the beaten track the quietness of the location and beautiful views from its high vantage point made it ideal for those looking for a peaceful holiday. It's just a 10min drive to Ross-on-Wye and 5mins drive to the Mill Race, the nearest Pub/restaurant. A friendly place recommended for meals. Also worth visiting is the No.3 Restaurant in Ross-on-Wye. Paul and Edwina made us feel very welcome. A nice touch was the welcome basket which included some local goodies. A bonus for keen gardeners is Howle Hill Nursery, just a couple of minutes walk away. This is a gardener's paradise which has won 9 gold medals at the Chelsea Flower show, so well worth a visit. We had a week of hot sunny weather so the coolness of the cottage with its thick walls, made coming back to it after a day touring around, a pleasure. Highly recommended.

An absolutely gorgeous little cottage! Possibly the most peaceful place I have ever been it was a wonderful base for a restful break in this beautiful part of the world. We were made very welcome and the alpacas, sheep and dogs were very popular neighbours for our children! Thank you we loved it

Beautiful home from home cottage. Wood burning stove easy to use - very cosy property - perfect for chilly autumn evenings. Couldn't fault anything. Love this part of the country. So much to see and do - even in late Autumn! Sunset at at Tintern Abbey only beaten by watching the moon rise over the valley. Will definitely return and recommend :-)

Ideal cosy cottage furnished to a high standard. The hosts were warm, welcoming and accommodating and left us a lovely welcome basket of local produce. The views from the cottage are stunning and there are direct walks from the property and surrounding areas. There is a wealth of information provided within the property which included Local areas of interest including Leominster which has a small market, and has numerous tea shops and Tudor buildings, Hay on the Wye which is a book town and well worth a visit. Monmouth with the Nelson Museum, and the Courts. Crafts centres including Taurus crafts and the Hop Pocket Village are also worth a mention. The area has lots of attractions for families and children and local pubs are accessible by car or a steep walk.

We had a super stay here and did plenty of walking directly from the cottage. The cottage itself was very clean and well equipped but the shower-room sink made wet shaving rather difficult! Similarly the circular stairway did not allow much freedom, but all in all...super!

When we arrived we were knocked out by the views and location. All needs are provided for and we received a lovely welcome from the owners. The cottage is a real home from home and perfectly placed for exploring Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire, plus a path outside the property leading directly onto the Wye Valley Walk. Don't miss Litttle Dean Jail for a weird day out...and for a more tranquil adventure (but equally eerie!) Clearwell Caves is a must. This place is a real gem!

A perfect holiday! The owners were very welcoming. The cottage was outstanding - 5*. Beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. Their taste in everything matched ours. 'Mill Race Pub' in the village serves excellent food. Symond Yat River Cruises were fantastic. 'Three Choirs Vineyard' for wine tasting was superb.
