The place was absolutely amazing, perfect size for a couple with a lovely hot tub and gazebo area in the garden that made for some lovely dinners outside surrounded by sheep, chicken and the two little cats.. Our only negative feedback would be that we didn’t get any information on arriving as to key collection and the numbers didn’t work and it felt weird entering the property without speaking to anyone. Although we appreciated the privacy it would be a nice to be greeted either on arrival or that day to say hello. The stable door also didn’t lock which meant the property was never secure which was something that really bothered us and would like to see that mended before a return visit but we absolutely intend to return in the long run! Thank you for a lovely stay!

As instructed prior to arrival i rang the owners and left 4 messages on two different numbers for key information no one returned my call.. We struggled to locate the propeety initially as the stone with ghe lodges name on at the too of the drive could do with painting On arrival no one was there to meet us which isnt a big issue but would have been nice. The location and facilities were really good. However the cleanliness wasnt to the standard i would have expected especially during lockdown. The decor was tired and could have done with being painted especially the kitchen ceiling where there had been a leak and the bathroom were paint was flaking off the walls. There was no brush , mop or hoover meaning the floor couldn't be cleaned throughout our stay and the stable door in fhe kitchen wasnt locked and had no key to enable us to lock it which meaning we coukdbt secure the property. I did knock on the owners door a couple of times but got no reply. This property with a few finishing touches could have been perfect without too much of an outlay for the owners.

Being off grid, hidden away and in such a secluded spot was perfect for us.. The hot tub was awesome. Who cares how cold it is when the tub's 40 degrees!!!! The wood burner kicked out some serious heat ensuring the cottage was toasty warm. We were nice and close to Ross on Wye and the owner was kind enough to recommend a few pubs for us. We will definitely consider another trip.

The place is pretty tricky to find, the writing on the stone that has its name on is rather faded & could do with a lick of paint.. Hot Tub under the stars is the highlight, wood burner is fantastic, bed is comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped, selection of DVD's are available to watch, it's a really nice place to stay. There were strange comings & goings in the middle of the night, cars & vans, 2am 4am, for such a remote site there's a fair bit of traffic running past/alongside/outside it. We didn't meet the owners, we did try knocking on the door (maybe we tried the wrong door) there were plenty of lights on, but we didn't see them. The Wi-Fi password given on the information sheets didn't work, so be prepared to be completely shut off! In no way do the negatives outweigh the positives, they are more niggles than annoyances. It would have been nice to meet the owners. I would book there again.

This was a last minute booking as previous house had gone but what a amazing place already planning our return to the stable next year It’s honestly was perfect not a single thing wrong with anything clean tidy and good access to local attractions and days out lovely walks and the hot tub looking up at the stars was amazing so relaxing and peaceful great hosts too always on hand if you need anything Would definitely recommend staying

September 2019
Gorgeous cottage and very private garden and hot tub area.. Everything you needed supplied in the cottage. Did not see anyone else for our whole stay. We did actually try and speak with the owners at one stage but were not able to contact them. Apart from that a faultless stay. Very nice location, we visited the butterfly farm nearby which was lovely.

The Stable is an amazing place for a break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.. Louisa was very welcoming and gave us some great recommendations of places to visit and eat. The area of the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean are on the doorstep (with a car) and a wonderful area to explore, then after a day of walking, cycling or canoeing the hot tub is there to relax in and watch the sun set, perfect! The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

We spent our Honey Moon at the Stable and we couldn't of been more pleased with it.. We found it close to lots of good town centres, attractions and places to explore which we did each morning, then we spent the afternoons in the hot tub and the evenings around the fire pit with the BBQ going. The location is perfect, you can't get much more perfect if you want peace and quiet and time to relax. The Hosts completely left us alone but were always close by if we needed anything. Also I have to say that we didn't find the midges a problem at all, weather that was down to the time of year or extra measures I have no idea. We had never done a holiday like this before but we would love to do it again, I'd book the Stable again in a heartbeat!

The Stable is set in a fantastic location and is a very well laid out accommodation that is very clean with a cosy cottage feel.. The Hot Tub and BBQ area is great for chilling out at anytime of day. It is also a great base for a holiday as there is plenty to do and see in the surrounding area. The owners where very welcoming and unless we asked for anything they left us to enjoy our time alone in this idyllic location. I would highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely time at the stable celebrating our second wedding anniversary.. The stable is decorated to a high standard creating a very warm and cosy feel and yet spacious at the same time. The location is perfect and the scenery breathtaking. The hot tub is wonderful! we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the stable, one of the loveliest places we’ve stayed!

Wonderful quiet and relaxing stay at the stable, everything needed was supplied, even met the black and white spaniel (only once though which was a shame), would thoroughly recommend this property for a super quiet couple hideaway.. Thankyou owners for providing this

The hot tub could only be used at certain times due to the swarming flies because of the weeds (wild flowers) around it.. It was difficult to get in and out of the hot tub due to it being put in the wrong way around. The inner step and the narrow part was at the back with no way to get to it this meant you were getting into the hot tub over the controls which was the widest part. Also the drainage in the shower was awful you had to be very aware of the shower tray becoming too full and water going out over. Hence more towels needed to be used on the floor.

The Stable was perfect for our holiday and is set in a beautiful, quiet valley which feels like you have the surrounding hills and woods to yourself.. The owners live just opposite and met us shortly after our arrival to greet us and see if we needed anything. The Stable is modern and open plan inside and had everything we needed. We used the hot tub every day - it's set up on the raised garden area (up some steps at the back of the house) along with a seating area and firepit/BBQ. We enjoyed sitting in there in the evening, listening to the birds and watching the lambs running about the field next to the Stable. Whilst we were there we visited Ross-on-wye, the Sculpture Trail, walked up May Hill for some amazing views and had dinner at some fantastic pubs (we recommend the Loughpool Inn and the Moody Cow). Loved it all!

Had a lovely three night stay this week. We brought our two year old also. The cottage is very nice inside and has all basic amenities bar a washing machine. It is all open plan and big enough to put a cot at the end of the king size bed. Which was comfy but the mattress could probably do with a change as could/hear feel the springs when you moved. The hot tub was lovely and views beautiful when your in it. There was a wooden gazebo with a bbq and ash pit for heat but you needed to supply the coals. The farm is very cut off and when your driving to it, it's easy to go past the little lane that leads to it, there is another farm called the paddocks right next to it and it is the next left from that. There is no phone signal but if your with orange you may get a bit, but o2 was useless, there was wifi but didn't really work very well. We didn't use the log burner whilst we were there as the weather was nice and the heating worked well. but you had to ask for a starter kit and pay £5 for the logs. Which would have been hard as we never saw the owner whilst we were there, we spoke for directions before we arrived and we had asked for a high chair 3weeks before but it wasn't there when we arrived and we never got it, he also told us he would drop off an extra towel but we didn't get that either but we had brought some of our own and got by without the high chair. The bathroom was very nice and had a big walk in shower but it did flood as the plug appeared to be blocked. A useful note is to bring some dishwasher tablets, toilet roll (as there was half a roll left and no supply) and kitchen roll. Everything else was supplied. It is really kitted out for couples and if your child is any older than two you wouldn't be able to got there but overall was very nice.
