A family member stayed here recently, and was somewhat disappointed by the property. There are cobwebs all over, the bed linen was dirty, there was a layer of dust on the bedside lamps, and there was absolutely nothing provided for them in the property. I am aware that the property is self catering, but having stayed at many self catering holiday properties (including one owned/managed by this family member), I was shocked that not even tea and coffee was provided in the property. It also seemed that the fire alarm in the property has not been tested since 2017, which poses a huge risk to the safety of guests. The Old Stables could be an absolute wonderful place to stay, but the level of cleanliness really put a dampener on my relatives' stay. Some work is needed to bring it to an acceptable standard.

Wonderful cottage, location and owners.. It was well appointed and the cleanliness was excellent. Personally for a perfect stay I would have preferred the cottage to have a wifi connection, especially as mobile phone coverage is very poor on some networks. Although grumbles aside I would definitely rebook and return as we loved everything else. Thanks.

Had a lovely week at the Stables.. The accommodation was excellent, location very peaceful with nice views and the walks round the lakes enjoyable. The grounds were well secure even for my two escape artists, with no worry of allowing them to roam freely. Herefordshire is a pleasant area to visit, many attractions with easy reach to cities and towns worth visiting. Rob the host was very pleasant and helpful. Would certainly recommend to anyone to book the Stables

Charming get away - lovely views across small lake.. Facilities good and spotless when we arrived. Comfortable and lots of space for our party of three. Convenient base for Gloucester/Worcester/Hereford triangle and the beautiful black and white timbered buildings for which this area is famous. We also fitted in some retail therapy at Gloucester Quays. Slight road noise when windows open but not an issue for town dwellers like us.
