Disappointed
On the Sykes photos it shows the balcony as having furniture and advertised as in place on the balcony but in reality was non existent so the balcony is only good for standing. The house is grubby, the garden is in a state. Not enough Cutlery China for 8 people to eat and drink from for more than one simple meal. Drinking glasses heavily marked from dishwasher. Had to share drinking tumblers for first few days as there were only 4 got the 8 of us. Doorbell not working. Remote controls not available for all TVs. Not enough hangers for towels in bathrooms for 8 guests. No coasters to protect furniture. Back gate latch not working properly. Vertical blinds gather at window opening side so when the windows are open the blinds are blown around. Shower head in master en-suite cannot be adjusted and shower knobs missing parts so difficult to adjust. The toaster tripped the electric so had to wait for rep to come to put it back on as electric meter is in locked garage. No dressing tables or mirrors to do hair and make up comfortably. One wardrobe has bedding in it which means no length space for dresses. Hot water ran out every day on last couple of people to shower. Fridge shelf was cracked and fell off.
If the house was maintained appropriately, cleaned and adequately resourced .furniture put on the balcony, dressing tables with mirrors along with all the minor problems it’s actually a lovely house in a great location.

This house is perfectly located in Portland with Chesil Beach within yards, fabulous pub (The Cove) walkable and the Coastal Walk also on the doorstep.. As keen walkers and runners, we didn't use the car once during our stay! The accommodation is spacious (although there were only two of us) and the kitchen well equipped for self catering. The check in and check out was super easy, details provided beforehand was also timely and informative. Only two slight niggles 1) only two dishwasher tablets and one loo roll in each toilet which meant a shopping trip was needed, for the price paid we would have thought there would be sufficient supplies of these two essentials 2) also although it was surface clean the property could do with a deep clean to get rid of the cobwebs, limescale etc. But would definitely stay here again.
