This wonderful cottage sleeps four people and is set mainly on the ground floor with a zip/link king-size double, a bathroom and an open plan living area, with a double with en-suite on the first floor. Area
The picturesque village of Upwey lies just four miles north of Weymouth, nestling beneath the Dorset Ridgeway, and takes its name from the shallow chalk stream, the River Wey, which bubbles up here from an underground spring. Upwey is well-known for its Wishing Well, where George III once sought the benefits of the natural spring water. It is now a delightful tea room, serving lunches and traditional cream teas. There are a number of footpaths leading directly from the village to miles of unspoilt countryside, and close by is the market town of Dorchester, Thomas Hardy’s ’Casterbridge’. An easy drive or bus ride takes you to the popular seaside resort of Weymouth offering visitors glorious golden sandy beaches, excellent watersports facilities and a bustling harbour. An attractive village location and an ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Region
Explore the fossils and stunning beaches of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, visit historic Sherborne and Shaftesbury, or enjoy the footpaths, country lanes and thatched-roof pubs Dorset offers.

We had a great stay at Bramshurst, one of the North Manor Meadows cottages in Upwey near Weymouth. It's more of a large, open-plan villa and was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Lots of handsoap and disinfecting spray etc available and clean ie re Covid. The double plus en suite is on the mezzanine level and the 2nd bedroom is on the ground floor next to the bathroom. Shower very powerful, hot water throughout our stay no problem. All mod cons. TV, wifi, dishwasher, lovely outdoor space to sit in. Ours adjoined on to 2 other villas and we heard no noise at all through the walls. Lovely and quiet at night. It was about 15 minutes drive to Weymouth with at least 3 supermarkets on the way. Weymouth has a lovely sandy beach and is fairly commercial but that meant good facilities with plenty of cafes and free loos, plus shops to get a paper, sunhat, etc. Very pleased indeed with our stay and would highly recommend.

Modern, clean and comfortable accommodation in a convenient location.. A much lighter duvet needed for the bed, goodness knows how hot it would have been in the summer, we had to take it off and just use the cover which was not really quite enough. A lovely little group of cottages though in a very peaceful spot, with nice walks around, we will definitely return.

This was a nice modern house it was an mezzanine style house with curtains to cover the balcony.. The house had lots of amenities, including a washer/dryer, dishwasher, small washing line and BBQ! We also had a mini welcome pack which was really helpful (a few dishwasher tablets, cloths, bin bags, washing up liquid, hand soap and a pint of milk in the fridge, plus even doggie biscuits and dog bags.) It was a nice touch and much appreciated! I would say if you were planning on eating in most nights there is no cupboard space to put the food, we used the worktops but ate out nearly every night so it wasn't a problem. The double bed in the upstairs bedroom was quite small (width wise), however there was also a fan which kept us cool. Overall a very enjoyable week, great location not to far from anything, peaceful too, plus off road parking.

A beautiful modern accommodation in a wonderful location.. Upwey is a lovely village to wonder around with a nice river and lots of wildlife. If you want quiet relaxation this is the place. It is also very well placed for trips out with Weymouth a close drive away and many places to visit. We would go back.

The accommodation was superb, light and spacious.. The beds were very comfortable and the showers etc efficient and enjoyable. The only drawback with the accommodation was the lack of cupboard space to store any food items, but this encouraged "eating out". The other drawback was the fact that we used the car everyday as there was nowhere locally to walk easily. The Wishing Well cafe was lovely and welcomed dogs . We would also suggest that a local map/information would be useful to visitors

The location in Upwey is lovely, with a pleasant walk to the wishing well and tea rooms.. Liked the inclusion of the pet friendly guide - an excellent idea as this is a prime reason for booking the accommodation. While its not inexpensive, the area is lovely and the contact for entry etc was excellent - very friendly and helpful. Explains why we have returned!

We had a great holiday at Bramshurst, a very modern and warm property in lovely grounds.. Also the location is excellent for touring the area, and the village itself very pretty and convenient for both Dorchester and Weymouth. We were at first a little taken aback by the 'minimalist' nature of the accommodation, e.g. we are used to finding local books and magazines, DVDs and more info on local attractions in a cottage (families might also expect some toys or board games). That wasn't important to us, but we would have appreciated a broom, mop etc and a few cleaning supplies, and especially more crockery as the provision of just four mugs, plates etc means a lot of washing up or running the dishwasher! Finally we felt that the property handbook needed to be more detailed - for example an explanation of the Velux windows which opened automatically (and loudly!) without warning.

This cottage, together with the others in the courtyard, were exceptional.. We tend to use these cottages as a base to sightsee the local area, but found that we looked forward to our return it night, as much as the outings themselves. We are already, checking out if we can book the same accommodation again next year.

We had a great time.. The cottage is modern and comfortable. An excellent place to discover the Jurassic Coast and Weymouth/Portland. Organisation by Sykes Cottages and the owner has been perfect.

We had a good stay.. It was a good place for two octogenarians to stay with one able-bodied person whilst undertaking half-day visits to local gardens and places of interest.

Fantastic villa and surrounding area.. Very quiet, the deck outside is a lovely sun trap, away from the cooling breeze, I had no problem finding the villa, instructions were great and key pick up good. Would consider staying there again if in the area, as close to so many great places.

THIS PROPERTY IS IN A BEAUTIFUL VILLAGE WITH LITTLE COTTAGES AND MYRIAD OF STREAMS/WATEFALLS 2.. 5 MILES FROM WEYMOUTH (EASY 40 MINUTE WALK) THE SWEDISH STYLE INTERIOR WAS A DELIGHT AND SO CLEAN. THE PRETTY GROUNDS WERE MANICURED. WE HAD A FRONT AND BACK GARDEN WITH COUNTRYSIDE VIEWS ALL ROUND. THE BEDDING AND TOWELS WERE LUXURY. WE ENJOYED THE BONUS OF TWO BATHROOMS. IT WAS A PERFECT LONG WEEKEND AWAY FOR MY HUSBAND, HIS MOTHER AND I.

We had a lovely family week together. The location is safe and peaceful away from that hassle and bustle of town but only a short drive to the beach. The accommodation was in excellent condition, clean up to date and modern.

We had a fantastic weeks stay in this new, modern and fully equipped holiday home. It had everything we needed for a short break and we felt very at home. The location is beautiful and very peaceful with lots of lovely walks around the river Wey. Would definitely recommend it and hopefully we'll be back again ourselves.
