The main thing we look for in a cottage apart from facilities and location is cleanliness so we were disappointed to find the main bathroom toilet needing cleaning and lots of flies in there. (I appreciate it is on a working farm so flies are part and parcel).
We also had to clean all surfaces before using as we assumed if the toilet wasn't cleaned properly neither were the surfaces.
That is the (minor) negatives out of the way
The cottage was probably the best equipped we have stayed in (we were doing staycation before it was a thing ;o) )
The games room was amazing, as a pool player the table was better than half the tables I play on in the league. Electric air hockey, fussball (only the left back on the red team was slightly damaged) and a full compliment of paddles and balls for table tennis.
Lovely, well kept fenced garden ideal for dog owners and the centre garden was perfect for the kids to run around in.
Location is very good for Dorset's many attractions (Monkey world, heavy horse centre, Studland Bay (amazing sandy dog friendly beaches), Corfe castle, I could go on...
Enjoy!

We had a lovely stay at corner barn.. It was rural and relaxing. Some beautiful walks near by. We would recommend this for a quiet holiday.

We had the most wonderful week staying at the corner barn at the beginning of August 2020.. The barn was extremely clean and despite covid measures milk, biscuits and tea, coffee and sugar were provided which was a lovely welcome gesture.
Basic cleaning products were also stocked in the cupboards including washing up liquid, hand soap and tea towels.
The barn is very spacious and the communal green space outside was a lovely safe area for our children to play. Unfortunately the games room was not open due to covid restrictions.
Corner barn is set in a beautiful peaceful area. There is a nice pub just down the road in the village of Winterborne Stickland called the Crown, which was open on certain days. Seating was provided outside due to covid.
A large tesco and other shops are only a 10 minute drive to Blandford forum.
Corner barn was a great base for exploring the stunning Jurassic coast which was about a 40 minute drive away. We had lots of days at different beaches and enjoyed crabbing in Weymouth harbour with the children. We also went on a lovely walk up bulbarrow hill which is one of the highest points and has lovely views of the coast.
I would definitely recommend staying here and would visit again as we had such a great holiday.

Corner Barn is a perfect holiday home.. Comfy, warm, clean and everything has been thought of. The small fully enclosed front garden was perfect for our two dogs imbetween lots of lovely long walks. There is a bridle path just across the lane from the cottage that leads up into beautiful woods which was carpeted with bluebells when we visited. The surrounding countryside is all stunning and we grew up in Cornwall and live in Devon so thought we had the monopoly on breathtaking views. We are already trying to identify a week to return to this cottage.

Lovely clean cottage.. Milk in the fridge and cake on the table when we arrived were a welcome surprise.

Corner Barn was a real treasure.. It was larger than the photographs suggested (we couldn't find a way to capture the size in photos either!) and the owners had thought of everything. From a cake, coffee, tea and milk waiting for our arrival, to a comprehensive booklet of cottage information and tips on local places to visit, we wanted for nothing. The cottage was well-stocked with all basic household items, and there was even a hosepipe outside to rinse down a muddy dog after a day out. It made an excellent base for us to explore the area. The building seemed well-insulated so we didn't use the wood stove or electric heaters, nor could we hear any of our neighbours. All in all, a lovely place for a relaxing getaway. The TV has spare HDMI ports and the WiFi strength was perfect so we connected a tablet and had family movie nights in the evenings after long days of hiking and swimming along the nearby coast.

Corner Barn was the perfect holiday cottage.. I would highly recommend this property to families in particular. The games room was great feature and kept the children entertained for hours. The cottage is in a beautiful location and accessible to many local attractions. We had a great holiday in Dorset with great accommodation.

Corner Barn is part of the Hedge End barn conversions and is utterly delightful! The cottage came with a secure, fenced grass area (with a picnic style table) making a safe place for the dog to wander before his daily walks (great walking right on the doorstep too). The cottage itself was very comfortable, with everything you'd need for an enjoyable stay. We made use of the games room (Big Barn) for table tennis and billiards/snooker/pool (?) The cottage is well placed to explore both Dorset and Devon, although some of the country roads can be a bit narrow!. We'd love to come back with our daughters and their families, as it suits all ages (the play equipment in the Big Barn is great for small children) and families with dogs. The opportunity to buy rapeseed oil and flour produced by the farm was another bonus, as was the lemon cake and milk ready for our arrival. Thank you for a great mini-break!

Three of us stayed in The Corner Barn whilst the rest of the family (6 of them + dogs) stayed in The Old Cart Shed in March. The courtyard is a lovely idea to enable smaller or larger groups staying to get together.
Our barn was beautiful; the decor looked like it had been only recently refurbished when in fact it had been completed a few years ago. Everything was spotless, the rooms cozy and comfortable, although we only stayed for a long weekend (we wish it was longer) everything is supplied to make it feel like a real "home form home". The milk in the fridge and cake and bread on the table when you arrive is a perfect touch.
We enjoyed a walk taking a path directly across the road from the barn where you can admire the amazing scenery and say "Good Morning Daisy" to the local cows. The onsite Games Room offers pool, table tennis, table football and air hockey for the big kids and a plethora of toys for the little ones.
The Barn(s) are set in a lovely remote location but close enough to amenities like supermarket and town to stock up on supplies.
We will definitely be back.

By far the best self catering accommodation we've stayed in.. An extremely high standard which is not what we were expecting for a dog friendly cottage.
Would recommend over and over!!!

The corner barn was fantastic.. Spacious. Great facilities. VERY clean. Loved the play barn facilities and the gardens being enclosed was a godsend with having a dog. Parking was great too. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. All items were provided in the kitchen which was lovely and spacious and made cooming easy. We definately will return.

The only minor detail that we did not like was the twin bed bedroom.. None of us recall seeing it on the website. We did not feel that this was an ideal room for two adults.

This is a beautiful place with lovely bluebell woods across the road. The accomodation is lovely and the cake awaiting us on arrival, with milk in the fridge and a pre-stock of tea and coffee was over and above any expectations. As birders I always make a list of birds seen from or around a property. Just 4 days in and I am already at 50 species, with raven and spotted flycatcher as star birds but supporting cast of bullfinch, yellowhammer, buzzard and a full set of mixed woodland species.

We really liked the garden with the cottage as we had our dog with us and it was just perfect. We stay in many cottages for holidays with our dog and this was lovely. My only concern was the road, however once the large gate was closed there would be no way he could have got out. The cottage was warm, cosy, very clean and all fitments were of a high standard.

December 2014
We stayed for two weeks in October 2014 initially with a friend then relatives arrived from abroad. Contact was made with the owner who left spare sheets for the out of sync bed change. It is ideally suited for visiting the Jurassic coast and Glastonbury, Stonehenge and many other 'must see' places. The Cottage has everything to make for a good stay. I have only given 4 out of 5 because the Sykes info is inaccurate. The twin room has the shower the double has a hand held shower over the bath. This cannot be attached to a wall so made for a bit of spillage on the bathroom floor. The chair and settee were both very uncomfortable which would have been ok if the table had had chairs around it with back support. It did not it had 2 benches. All in all a lovely place to stay but I would suggest the owner spends a night in each of the cottages to gauge any snags for themselves. Twin beds are at right angles to each other so not ideal for a couple.

Liked the added extras in the kitchen and great quality linen - furnishings were all high spec so it was a proper home from home.

It was well laid out, the games room was a welcome addition as on one of our days it was raining throughout the whole day. The Barn was well equipped and covered all our needs and more. We have already recommended to some of our family and they will hopefully be booking the same location in the near future. We would highly recommend this property to anybody needing a quiet and lovely location that was central to lots of attractions around the area.

August 2014
The Barn was private, the site was quiet and the garden was reasonably secure for the pets. The internet and the television service was very good for the location. The information provided for the area was very useful for the local shops, eating out and just about the farm itself which was good to know. Lots of guides about good places to go and also where dogs were allowed was helpful to us on planning our day. The standard of the furniture could not be faulted and the welcoming cake was a nice surprise, along with the basics of making a hot drink. The heating of the Barn was very good and the logs for the burner were not needed. Would recommend the local pub as we ate there every night or had a takeaway from them and the food was lovely as were the people who ran it.
