To the exterior there is an enclosed garden patio with furniture and ample off-road parking. Shepherds Retreat is a lovely base for couples wanting a break from normal life.

The village offers a selection of pubs, tea rooms and local shops, along with a bustling market square. The encompassing towns and villages of Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock all offer superb days out, and there are many breath-taking walking/cycling routes to be explored.
