Visit the Blue John Cavern (13.5 miles), Treak Cliff Cavern (15.5 miles) and Speedwell Cavern, a flooded underground cave system that can be explored by boat at nearby Castleton 15 miles away. Well worth a visit is the National Trust s Lyme Park and Hall (11 miles) where Pride and Prejudice was filmed in 1995, and Peveril Castle built in 1080, which is situated near Castleton (15 miles). Also, Derwent Valley has a picturesque series of dams as well as the Ladybower Reservoir (14.5 miles) where the Dambusters trained.
