Lovely cottage and the under floor heating was a added bonus.. Very central to the sights we wanted to go and visit. Nice pub in the village with good food, but you need to book as it gets full very quickly, as with most pubs in the area. Only down side was it wasn’t until we got to the cottage and read the instructions in the book provided that dogs weren’t allowed upstairs, which proved a bit difficult with our anxious little dog.

Very comfortable and nicely presented cottage.. Not sure on the one dog rule as don't see an issue having two smaller well behaved dogs. This would also encourage more booking no doubt. Only slight issues were: No black out curtains in main bedroom, as the sun is very bright in the morning. The mattress could have been a bit comfier. Would definitely recommend and would book again. Thanks,

Great cottage very clean and tidy the cleaners even came to clear the path after it had snowed. Very comfy furniture and everything we needed was there. Plenty of parking and a nice walk to the dog friendly pub. The dog exercise area was just what my crazy spaniel needed. Great walks all round and local to lots of different tourists attractions. Would definitely book again

Fantastic!!! ! issues with WiFi for some of the week but I knew that in advance so wasn’t a problem. the village itself is lovely, the cottage was very clean, beautifully presented and very comfortable. the paddock to walk the dog was a real bonus. I would re book in a heartbeat.

The underfloor heating is set way too hot and there is no way to control it.. There is very little hot water, certainly not enough for a bath. The bath plug does not fit so the water drains away quickly. Despite reporting these things to the owner after the first night nothing was done to fix them despite her saying that she would send someone round.

We found the cottage very comfortable and warm although we would have liked a thermostat so we could turn down heating a little we also found the beds a little on the small side to what we are used to.. But the cottage was comfortable and an excellent base for a very nice break

Primitive Croft is a warm, cosy and well appointed cottage.. So warm, we didn't need to use the log fire, even in the depths of January. We liked the welcome pack that helped us settle in on the first evening. Minor irritants were the lack of any mobile signal on the O2 network and the bed mattress was a bit hard for our taste. But overall we enjoyed our stay there and after a hard days walking in the Derbyshire hills, it was good to come back to a warm house and settle down in front of the large tv screen.

A lovely, clean cottage with good facilities, great for 4 people & a dog.. Good location, lovely walks from the cottage & not far to drive to Buxton or Bakewell. Welcoming hosts too. Would certainly book this cottage again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage.. The walking was great and we had unusually warm weather for October. The cottage facilities were excellent although the huge television did tend to dominate the sitting room and perhaps there were too many mirrors. The meals at the local pub were very good value and everyone we met was friendly. We're likely to book the cottage again.

This is a beautiful contemporary cottage in a wonderful peaceful location.. We took our 8 month puppy and he enjoyed the walks in the owners private paddocks as well as walks in the stunning local area. We will definitely book again in the future and recommend to family and friends. Jo and Josh Parker

A beautiful cottage, ideally located for all of the Peak District.. Only slight drawback is no wifi. Not an issue for me, more of a disaster for my teenage son!

Had a lovely weekend break here with our 8month old puppy, the house was spotlessly clean, the owners of the cottages were very helpful on arrival they host a welcome evening at their own house where other guests come to aswell to find out about the village and places to go around chelmorton. They even managed to get us booked into the pub up the road for evening dinner with our pup as it gets quite busy but they was helpful and arranged a table for us. Would definitely go back here, they have a paddock which is all enclosed where we could let our puppy off lead knowing she was safe and we could use it for re-call training. It was in a good location for lovely walks.

What can I say.. What a charming little place Chelmorton is. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, welcoming and fulfilled our expectations. We stayed for 4 days in February and it was cold and very windy weather outside however the underfloor heating kept the cottage warm and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped. The welcome package was a very nice touch too. The beds were comfortable and both of the bathrooms were clean and warm, the jacuzzi bath was a great addition too. We loved watching the sunrise from our bedroom window. The information pack provided by the owners was informative and very detailed. The location suited us well as it was only few minutes by car to Buxton and Bakewell. There is also bus links operating in a village. There is a Inn just short walk from cottage and the food was home cooked and very tasty.

Lovely cottage in a lovely village.. Owners very friendly and helpful. We had some wet weather and a tumble dryer or washing line would be useful. For us a dishwasher would be more usefull than a freezer.
