Note: The ground-floor bedroom is accessed externally and is therefore unlikely to be suitable for younger children.

For those who appreciate water activities, the calm lake is perfect for canoeing and dinghy sailing, while those who are less energetic can take a leisurely ride aboard the lovely steam boat "Gondola" or visit Brantwood, the old residence of John Ruskin. The Beatrix Potter Gallery is located in the award-winning community of Hawkshead, which is also close to Tarn Hows, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the nation, and Esthwaite Water, a popular fishing place.
