The cottage was lovely, cosy and well equipped.. Couldn’t fault it at all.

The property really is a home from home.. It's large and airy and has plenty of space to relax and enjoy yourself. The furnishings are first class and there is such a lot provided for your stay by the host. Washing up liquid, washing tablets and toilet rolls were all provided for our arrival. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you would need to cook a first class meal. A lovely pub called The Engine Inn is within a stones throw and cooks fabulous meals. A shop is a very short walk away and if you don't feel like travelling far you can sit in the front garden listening to the river and watching the world go by. We certainly didn't feel anxious about visiting the area with the restrictions of Covid-19 in place. The property was very clean and plenty of hand washing products were provided. I would certainly recommend this property.

Comfortable cottage - lots of sofa space, comfy beds and decent towels.. The only down sides were no dish washer (who wants to wash up on holiday?!) when there is plenty of space for one, and that the bath takes ages to run.

The cottage is very well provided for both equipment and entertainment wise.. Mattress should be renewed soon as it has not worn well since we were last at the cottage 18 months ago. Tv in bedroom did not have a good signal.

Gorgeous accommodation, everything you need, we have loved our time here, so have our young children and dog. Cottage itself is located opposite lovely stream, local shop and you can see the local Engine Inn from front room window family and dog friendly! Comfy beds, 2nd bedroom is a good sized twin which is perfect for us with 2small kids, living space is great size and big enough for large dog bed without taking over our space. Fully equipped kitchen, bathroom looks like it's recently been refurbished, along with separate toilet. Really have no faults at all and couldn't be happier with the cottage. Owners live upstairs and were kind enough to let us know we didn't need to rush out as cleaners are coming later in the day, really appreciated that. Cark itself is beautiful, very small little village, pretty much one road running through it and could easily be missed, but once you get off the road there are beautiful walks, could go on for miles. Plenty of info in cottage for walks and places of interest. Already recommended to family and friends and would love to come back in the summer.

The apartment was really warm and inviting, immaculately clean, well appointed.. The information pack was very helpful and the owners left us some nibbles and a bottle of wine which we were very appreciative of. I had to contact the owners a couple of times and they were very helpful, I will recommend the apartment to anyone and the village is very nice, everyone friendly.

Just returned from a week at this lovely cottage, it is in a beautiful situation in the quiet little village of Cark with the river Eea running just in front of the house. Very comfy and modern interior. Very thoughtfully furnished and all that one needs to make it home from home. The wine and crisps on arrival were a special treat. The food at both the Engine Inn and the Rose and Crown was good and there are plenty of places to go nearby and lots of great walks. After over thirty years of staying in holiday cottages have to say this comes top of my list. Thank you for a great holiday.

We have just returned from this stylish well laid out apartment. It was so clean and comfortable, especially the beds, which we very much appreciated after an active day exploring the lakes. It had everything you needed and the bonus of a utility room with a washer, separate dryer and a freezer so we could stock up on all the local goodies in the area to take home. A real home from home.

This is a lovely ground floor apartment, extremely well furnished and equipped. Two well furnished and comfortable bedrooms, ideal for four adults. Large modern kitchen and dining area, large lounge and flat screen television, comfortable seating , all in all a very smart and cosy rental showing good taste by the owners. No dishwasher, but fridge and separate freezer which was very useful.

August 2014
The ground floor 2 bedroomed apartment was ideal for us and our two pooches. First visit to Lake District and its amazing. Apartment is well placed to explore the area. The apartment has all you need including a good utility room for muddy boots! And a fab coffee machine! Would have liked an enclosed garden for the pooches but that definitely didn't spoil anything. Cartmel has the best cream tea too! The pub on the hill did slightly better food that the Engine Inn over the road but both served good ale! We've had a fabulous week, despite a couple of rainy days and the apartment was part of that!! (A bottle of white wine was left for us too which was a nice touch).

August 2014
Beautiful apartment. Well equipped - even had a freezer which was great when we wanted to take meat home from an award winning butcher in Grange. Quiet. very good neighbours who are like your own personal tourist info guides. We didn't meet the owners until the day before we left when they happened to be out talking to the neighbours. Would definitely go there again. Our dogs were very welcome especially in the local pub across the road.

The house felt as if it had freshly been decorated, with nicely co-ordinated furnishings in both the bedrooms. The welcome present of wine and biscuits were very nice, and the nespresso machine and pods were highly appreciated.
