Absolutely fabulous house, perfect for a large group or family.. The snug room is lovely for a little bit of peace and quiet. Large bedrooms, very comfy beds. Utility room ideal for the dog. Stream at the back with a few ducks on it. Nearby train station, pub and shop. Chip shop/Chinese in Flookburgh just a 10 min walk. Had a great time, and would recommend.

A beautiful cottage situated in an excellent location, close to railway station, two very good pubs 5 mins walk and local shop.. The cottage is perfect with everything supplied, very spacious and immaculately clean when we arrived. We have a lovely week here and will definitely return in the future, it was one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

Absolutely fantastic holiday! The photos of the cottage didn’t even do it justice! We had such a lovely time, only regret is we didn’t stay longer. The cottage has a fresh, modern interior and is situated in a gorgeous, friendly little village. Thanks for providing the perfect little getaway for a group of 21 year olds!

It was a perfect family holiday.. Celebrating my 60th birthday. The stream at the back of the property was home to wildlife, ducks and a kingfisher. The cottage was close to Grange over sands, windermere and the walking with wolves experience. Just the most perfect holiday Norma Cathrae

The house is perfect for six persons.. Traditional house with modern functional furniture, a very complete kitchen. Literally hundreds of maps, brochures and books in the house to help you prepare your excursions. Perfectly located for visiting the peninsulas and the Lake District. The owners are most helpful and live nearby.

Really loved our stay. The house is like a tardis inside - huge - more than enough room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers and a small dog. Everything you could need. There is a small yard rather than a garden but the front garden is also enclosed and nice to sit and watch the world go by. Owners were very helpful and responded quickly to any queries. There is a shop, a baker's and 2 pubs within a couple of minutes walk and another pub with a lovely garden in Flookburgh 1/2 a mile away. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back one day.

July 2018
The cottage was probably as outlined so my views are pragmatic.. The lack of parking within the site, with 2 cars and no downstairs loo ,and a semi hip bath in the bathroom were the downsides. The property was clean, good kitchen/bedrooms and 2 sitting rooms. The area allows you to include the lakes and the coastal areas to the south and west.
Mr Taylor

Great location in a beautiful village.. House had everything we needed plus more.

July 2018
Stunning house with everything you could ask for.. Like a tardis inside - much bigger than it looks even in the photos. Lovely location with a shop, baker's and pubs being a stone's throw away. Owners very responsive and helpful. Will definitely recommend and hopefully return one day.
Mrs Speakman
June 2018
Really lovely cottage but lets get the niggles out of the way 1st.. .. I would not say it had an enclosed garden. It had a yard and a narrow walled area in front of the property with no grass. Also think it could be made even more family friendly with a baby gate option and plastic crockery for young children. Now for the good stuff... clean, comfortable beautifil views, lots of helpful local info in the property too and a great base for adventuring the lakes. Also well situated - 2 local parks, pub, a bakery and shop. We had a great time. Thank you. X

August 2017
Our party of 4 adults 1 child and dogs found this cottage ideal as a relaxed base for enjoying the lakes. The rooms easily accommodated our various needs. tv's in downstairs rooms and each bedroom and wi-fi connection helped when we wanted our own space. Kitchen is well equipped and utility room was useful for our dogs. The bedrooms are spacious with marvellous built in wardrobes which i would have liked to have at home. A stream runs immediately along the back of the cottage and we appreciated the scene of cattle grazing in green fields on the other side of water although one of our dogs was wary of the sight of cows. One negative is that Cark like many villages in the area has narrow pavements and it was difficult to negotiate around the village with child and dogs.

There was no off-road parking as advertised, and my car got vandalised by drunk people passing by to reach the train station..

August 2015
It is called a cottage but is more a house - with three double bedrooms, spacious bathroom, two lounges, utility room and large fully equipped kitchen. When I say "fully equipped" I mean it. All you need to bring is your food. The house was spotless and so comfortable. I dare not sit down on the sofa in the morning because I knew that if I did, I would not have wanted to get up again. The village has a shop within a minutes walking distance, a bakery and two pubs, The next village, Flookburgh, has a couple of shops, pubs, sandwich shop and fish and chip shop. I loved the walks in the area, and more importantly so did my dogs. A fantastic house, highly recommended.
Mrs Green

Cottage is spotless and spacious. The bedrooms and bathroom are much bigger than they look on the photographs and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with anything you might need and the utility room is large. The owners kindly left a box of biscuits and a bottle of wine for us and readily came out to help us sort the central heating at 10pm on our first night. The train station is 100 metres from the cottage so great for trips to Ulverston or Grange.

June 2014
This was our second stay in a year in beautiful Cark. Surrounded by stunning countryside, lovely walks, a train station and peace and quiet we feel that this is a perfect base for us. Riverside View is a really nice, clean, comfortable and large house with a to die for bathroom. We loved its location especially being able to feed the ducks from the hall window and ease of parking. We particularly liked the enclosed garden with bolted gate which made it safe for our dogs to be outside without us having to keep an eye on them. We will definitely be returning to this fantastic property for our next holiday.

This cottage was much bigger than we expected and very well furnished. The bedrooms were large and there was more than ample room downstairs. Great location for touring the South Lakes region and less than 30 minutes drive to Bowness on Windermere. The local pub has a really good atmosphere with friendly staff and serves a number of real ales and good food. All in all a fantastic option with or without a pet.

This was one of the nicest holiday homes we have ever stayed in. Beautifully furnished and really spacious. The views across the countryside from the rear of the house are truly beautiful. I saw deer on several mornings. The river runs right under the windows and it was a joy to feed the ducks from the window. It is in a really good location for getting around the South Lakes. Perfect.

We are a group of friends who have been going away together for a number of years and its the first time we have booked a cottage in the Lake District. We planned an early christmas break and it was everything and more that anyone could have wanted. The cottage was fantastic, bedrooms were well furnished and really cosy, bathroom was amazing and the views from the back of the cottage just breathtaking. The owners have thought of everything you will need for self catering, you don't need to take anything. We had a wonderful time and will certainly be going back again next year. Ideal for families, friends and couples. We all liked how homely the cottage felt and we settled in right away, really relaxing and just what we needed.
