This property could be lovely, it’s really well located and appointed. Decorating is to a good standard. Unfortunately the cleaning is very poor, we arrived after a long journey to a dirty smelly house. The property stank of fish due to waste in the bottom of the bin. The floors hasn’t seen a hoover in sometime. Having contacted the letting agent we were assured the cleaner would attend. Hours later we had to clean ourselves so that we could put the children to bed. The hoover had to be emptied. This is disappointing at anytime let alone during Covid. The maintenance is also not to standard. We had a shower totally flood the bathroom as it was so badly blocked. The maintenance did attend quickly to resolve that. There is also something loose on the roof which bangs throughout the night and a number of blinds that fall down. It’s such a shame, this is a very nice holiday home let down by cleaning and maintenance,

Disappointing outdoor area - photos made it look bigger than it was
.... Disappointing outdoor area - photos made it look bigger than it was
They could do with updating the sofas which were saggy
Other than that the house was amazing with plenty of everything as there were 7 in our party and the sauna was well used by the males in our party

The property was excellent, well situated for eating out and the activities in the surrounding area.. The facilities were amazing and made the stay all the better. I have already recommended the property to several of my friends especially for larger parties. Parkgate gives you the space and comfort to have a truly enjoyable break.

Great house and would definitely return.. Only criticism more toilet roll please. One between 6 (on the first floor) isnt enough.
Location is great and we will definitely use again when we return to Windermere.

We've stayed at many houses in the Lake District but this has to be the best equipped and presented. The house has been renovated to a very high standard from the basement upwards; in the basement there is a flat screen smart TV with a games console, a sofa that can be converted to a bed, a washing machine, dryer, shower and sauna room. On the ground floor a lounge with another flat screen TV, a wood burning stove and three piece suite; there is a large kitchen with electric hob and oven, with a large dining table. You go upstairs to the first floor where there are two double bedrooms, a bedroom with two bunk beds; on the second floor there are a further two bedrooms, both en suite with baths and one has a jacuzzi bath.
The house is clean, very well equipped and comfortable with plenty to, do and is very close (2 minute walk) to Windermere town centre, where there are shops, pubs and restaurants. We will definitely stay again, the house is a credit to the owner.

The house is incredible.. Really well located in windermere and plenty of shops close by for food shopping. House was very well laid out and rooms were beautiful. One thing I would say is that the bunk beds are more for children or short adults. No real storage space in this room either but plenty of other rooms to store things. Overall this house was perfect and definitely would book again.

A lovely, beautifully decorated well equipped property in a good location. Short walk to shops, pubs and restaurants in Windermere. Our biggest problem was the fact that the owner rationed the hot water via an app. This meant that our young people ,who were engaged in outdoor activities ,could not have a hot shower before dinner. It took 4 days and numerous phone calls before the owner dealt with this which was very frustrating. Hopefully this won't happen to anyone else, but my advice is to check before you go as it could spoil a holiday if you have babies, small children or are active and need showers after a day outdoors.

The cottage was neat, tidy and well presented.. They provided everything you can think of for a family holiday, lots of board games to keep everyone entertained and big enough to have that little bit privacy. Overall a fantastic cottage for a big family.

The house is lovely and well equipped BUT the limited access to hot water was a BIG problem and took 4 days of phoning to be sorted.. This property is expensive to hire in the high season and hot water is required during the day for many reasons. Our young people had to have cold showers when they came in from activities and this is unacceptable. Unless the owner agrees NOT to do this again, as he has control through an app, this property is NOT suitable for the majority of families for example, families with babies and toddlers need access to hot water, active people need showers after a day outdoors participating in activities that the Lakes are renowned for and anyone elderly or with certain disabilities may also require access to hot water . The water problem is the reason why I have marked this property so low and that is a great shame as it would have been scored highly if that had not happened.

This is a really lovely holiday home ! Decorated and furnished to a high quality standard, but with a homely feel. plenty of space for a large family gathering! we would love to return sometime soon. The house is very convenient for everything Windermere has on offer.

Hi cottage was in a good location, cleanliness ok apart from second floor bathroom.. Not enough glasses in kitchen and the ones that were there were chipped. Beds need two pillows per person. Couldn’t use “adult size” bunk beds very unstable and difficulty to get in for a fully grown adult, however found the sofa bed and used that instead. Heating didn’t appear to be working Sunday pm but unsure of using the hive system?? Price expensive for the quality of the house have paid less for higher spec and comfort. We did have an amazing weekend but wouldn’t use that house again. First time that we used Skye’s we usually use lakelovers.

Perfect location for the lovely town of Windermere and a pleasant walk to the lake at Bowness.. The house exceeded expectations with enough room for ten adults to live comfortably for a week. The basement den with brand new sauna is a fantastic edition to the house. High end oven and dishwasher along with plenty of cutlery and crockery. Parking was not an issue for five cars with one permit and plenty of free parking in surrounding streets. You won’t be disappointed if you book this lovely holiday home and we will definitely use it again. Thank you.

House was stunning! Very clean and couldn’t believe how good the location was. Town centre at end of the street but you wouldn’t know as the house itself was located at the opposite end so very quiet. Lots of quaint cafes and eateries in walking distance

The cottage was fantastic for a family weekend away to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday.. The location was perfect enabling us to visit both Winderemere and Bowness. I was surprised to learn there was in fact a sauna in the cottage that hadn't been advertised as a feature, wasn't sure if this was deliberate but would of been good to know and we could of taken appropriate clothing. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived here on Friday night - our family arrived earlier in the day and got in with no problems and were able to park in 2 bays outside.
We booked this as a surprise trip for my Dad's 60th, we booked this as he loves the Lakes and what set this place apart from the beginning was although it was not 'cheap' to stay here it was much more reasonable than competitors & so much more modern.
Every room is finished to the highest quality & we all found a comfortable, cosy room!
We had 3 children with us & each of them were equipped for with 2 travel cots & a spare mattress for the oldest. All 3 bathrooms are gorgeous, especially the 2 en suite that our party loved.
So central & around everything in Bowness, short walks either side to places of interest and lots of shops very nearby. We were able to park 3rd and 4th cars in nearby streets without permits thanks to the knowledge of John!
The men inhabited the man cave for the duration of the weekend and my 5-year old nephew especially loved the touch of the Xbox with lots of games, very good touch!
I don't have enough adjectives to describe how lovely this place is or how much we loved the weekend here! All I would say is that it has more to offer than is advertised: washing machine, drier, iron & board, hairdryers, towels, travel cots & wish we had known about the sofa bed earlier haha!
Thanks so much to John & the holiday company - Dad had such a great birthday, we all loved it & can't wait to come back! Hoping the price still sets it apart when we come back! As my nephew said it's his new favourite house!
