Stayed for the week but wished it was longer. The cottage is immaculately clean, has everything you need in the kitchen and is perfectly situated for beautiful country walks. There's a fantastic chip shop ten min walk, a really good pub 50 yds away, local shop just across the road, in all everything we wanted for relaxing week of walking our dogs. This cottage is within easy driving distance of the lake district which was a really scenic beautiful drive In summary, a great place to stay.

A very well equipped cottage.. Great situation in the pretty village of Cark but also within walking distance of Cartmel, with some nice bars and restaurants.

Had a lovely holiday in the Lakes.. The cottage was up to a good standard and well furnished. Situated in a lovely village with two pubs that serves nice food. The Rose and Crown particularly recommended. The village is also not far from Cartmel and Flookburgh which are also worth seeing. The only downside was the parking however spaces are available. A small car will fit in front of the cottage. One thing which I would mention is that we felt rush on leaving as it wasn't very clear on my booking what time check out was. Suggestion: make a note of this from the booking site. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Mulberry Cottage is well located in Cark, five minutes walk to the railway station, with frequent services to Lancaster and Ulverston.. The house is comfortable, but there are a number of things that the website does not make you aware of: the house is overlooked at the back, so you keep the blinds permanently closed, or people can see in (this makes the interior darker, which it does not need); parking is difficult even with a small car, if the house next door had been occupied, there may have been some arguments! The photographs of the interior make the house seem bigger than it is. The shower is good and the beds comfortable. There is a small (overlooked) area to the side of the property for sitting out and/or drying clothes. I would recommend the property. Cark is a pleasant village and a good base for touring the area. There is a newsagent/general shop less than five minutes walk from the property and there are two pubs serving food; there is no longer a bakery in the village, however.

The cottage was beautifully presented, very comfortable (lovely beds) clean and well equipped.. Little touches like logs and kindling for the woodburner and a clothes airer and room to dry wet walking gear were much appreciated. Kitchen was unbelievably well equipped, could easily lay on a dinner party!! We loved it and will definitely recommend and book again ourselves. Wish we had booked to stay longer, a real home from home. By the way, we loved the thought that had gone into the collection of mugs!!

As with all the cottages we have stayed in with Sykes, Mulberry Cottage is a real home-from-home.. Extremely clean, comfortable and cosy. The cottage is well placed to visit many attractions and the little village of Cark is lovely. We really could not fault it and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family. Our boys (7 and 4) had such a wonderful time they didn't want to come home, one even saying that they prefer our holiday cottage to our real house!!

Fabulous cottage, very comfortable and extremely well equipped, even welcoming tea and coffee! Has everything you can think of including wifi, digital tv and great heating thats eazy to control if necessary. Only down side is the parking outside the cottage. Road is on a bemd and there isnt a full parking space so car sticks out into the road on the bend. Otherwise excellent.

Such a lovely comfortable cottage, very well equipped with everything you would need for a great holiday.. Train station 4 minutes away with trains to Carlisle and all the stops in between, and going south as far as Preston, we made great use of the trains to get out and about, very close to cartmel racecourse and all the lovely walks, 2 nice pubs in cark village serving good food. A lovely pie shop and a Londis. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there, and our doodle Ziggy had a whale of a time, will definitely return.

Beautiful cottage & village, thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely book again & we wished we'd booked longer! Great base for travelling around the Lakes & lovely walks just on the doorstep. A couple of points we would have liked to know though before going was the local shop closed at 8:00pm & the 2 local pubs finished serving food around 8:30pm so if you have a late arrival make sure you take some food with you as we had none. Also Holker Hall, which is within walking distance & well worth a look but note opening times as we were disappointed to find it closed on our last 2 days, Monday & Tuesday. Also, the garden was just a small yard that was ok for our needs but our dogs would have preferred a bit more space to run around in.

Fantastic cottage with everything you need.. Close to all amenities, Cark and Cartmel are lovely villages. Ate at L'Enclume and highly recommend, only a 40 minute walk to Cartmel. Used the cottage as a base for a fishing weekend and it is perfectly situated. We got lucky with the exceptional bank holiday sunshine which topped the trip off. Would definitely come back.

The cottage was lovely and exceptionally well equipped in the kitchen.. It was also very practica for dog ownerl with space in kitchen fir dig crate and an enclosed garden. The beds were incredibly comfortable too. Great central location with lively walks from the cottage and easy access to sea or lakes. The only point I would make is there was only one black bin - no recycling facilities.

We have had a great few days at Mulberry cottage. The cottage is in immaculate condition, very clean, with the best equipped kitchen making it a home from home. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is great after a day walking or to wake you up for the day ahead. Located in a lovely village, 40mins walk to Cartmel, 10mins by car from Grange. Lots of places to explore either on foot (20 mins from the sea!) or by car. The cottage has wifi and BT TV ( bring your Netflix password! ). Nice little outside space for coffee on a morning. We will be back.

This is a great little cottage.. Very clean and well equipped and in a lovely location. The artisan bakery (practically next door) "Fat Flour" is well worth a visit for delicious pastries and chocolate brownies.

Stayed at this cottage in May of this year and will definitely book again. The village location is great with two pubs both nice, and a bakery and shop few doors down, the bakery is worth a visit and does take away pizza weekend nights We walked to Cartmel, from the cottage, dog friendly well appointed track starts just as you leave Cark. The cottage has everything you could wish for, very high spec for a holiday let. Two double beds, great walk in shower, log burner for cosy night in. Kitchen is has everything you need if eating in is your preference. The location is perfect for exploring the lakes. Cannot wait for our next stay.
Mrs Throssel, March 2017
February 2017
Parking somewhat difficult.. The cottage does not have Wi Fi and I would not book this cottage again for that reason. That said, it was very comfortable and cosy and we thoroughly enjoyed our break. We would certainly use Sykes cottages again

November 2016
Absolutely loved this cottage, it was so clean and comfortable.. Slight problem with parking but this did not cause any major problems (to us, or the locals - tho it did to an "incomer" to the village - be warned, he will move your car wing mirror!!!

Lovely cottage.. felt right at home as soon as we walked in. TV cable could do with an update but apart from that was perfect
Mr Cummings, October 2016
September 2016
A small issue with the bins I spoke to the dustmen and each one said about a sticker missing as it is classed as trade waste, not a prob for us but in the summer it may be a different matter.. Also a new in comer to the village has made it his Saturday morning task to moan about the allocated parking space out side the cottage, real jobs worth and caused us a little amusement watching him squeeze between the car and window of the cottage, so really just to wined him up I parked so close a slice of ham would of not fitted lol made my day to see his face on Sunday. The landlady of the pub said he hasn't been there long it's an outsider thing so hayho other wise loved the cottage the village, a wonderful holiday thankyou

We came here to for a romantic Christmas getaway! Beautifully clean well furnished cozy romantic cottage. The kitchen was very well equipped allowing us to produce a lovely 3 course Christmas dinner. The cottage is very warm, the wood burner adds a lovely touch of ambiance. When we finally learned how to work the telly, (press the little blue buttons Radio/TV) it had all the channels that you could possibly wish for. The bedrooms are comfortable and well-equipped and the shower as everybody else has mentioned is to die for a bath would have made it more perfect. There is a really good dog walk by the right hand side of the Engine Inn along the river and beyond Recommendations Higginsons the butchers in Grange over Sands fantastic for meat and pies, the artisan bakers in the village producing beautiful breads, sausage rolls cakes everything was delicious both pubs very friendly and welcoming never ate in either of them so can't say about the food.

A beautiful little cottage which was very comfortable and cosy. It had everything required for a pleasant stay; the lovely kitchen had everything that you would want and the wonderful shower was just what's needed after a days walking. There are two dog friendly pubs with good food only minutes walk away and a good shop. The cottage is nicely situated for both the lakes and the coast and very handy for Cartmel races.

This cottage was everything we hoped for and more fitted out to a very high spec generally and for a foodie like me who loves to cook the kitchen could not have been better. huge comfy beds and a terrific shower . we would have liked more specific instruction about use of dvd player and the timer on the central heating but we worked it out eventually. I would recommend this cottage to anyone
