The mock Gothic Wray Castle is just a short distance from the property and is one of the stops on the popular leisure cruise which tours the lake departing from Ambleside, which is within four miles of the property and offers a range of shops, eateries, and choice of boat trips. The area has a choice of lovely country pubs, including The Outgate Inn and The Drunken Duck Inn, which are just over two miles from the property which can be reached by several delightful scenic routes, on foot, cycle paths as well as by road.
