Just a few miles from Lake Winderemere, Grange Over Sands is a lovely town on the Cartmel Peninsula, with a fantastic promenade.

A mile over the fell is the picturesque village of Cartmel, which features a choice of great restaurants and pubs, a Norman priory, and the smallest national hunt race course in the UK. At the foot of Lake Windermere is the National Trust s Fell Foot Park where you can enjoy the grounds, fish and swim in the lake or take to the water with a hired row or sail boat.
